Anyone not wanting Kelly or another transfer is clueless

Worst case scenario is he comes in and raises the level of play from the back ups and one of them beats him out. It is about building depth and competition with quality players, if the other don't like they can beat him out.

Anyone who thinks Kelly will fix anything is clueless.

Who would get kicked to the curb? The guy has 1 year to play. Nobody is leaving because Mark hurt their feelings by bringing in some competition.

And if they do, that's the kind of kid you think will lead the program where you want it to be?

Perry and Williams just watched Rosier get away with terrible play this season and not being held accountable. These two won't get a fair shot at the starting job if Bryant comes in (I think he's going to Arky). Don't believe me, take a look at Spring practice where Rosier got all of the reps with the 1's, despite it being a "QB Competition".

Disagree.

I’d rather be LSU or Michigan than so many of the other schools who sat on iffy QB(s) hoping for maturation/growth and watched as the entire team regressed (sound familiar?).

Nope. Get me a solid grad transfer and HELP THE PROSPECTIVE TRANSFERS PACK like Orgeron and Harbaugh did.

Also, I don’t think Bryant is the right guy.

Patterson wasn't a GT QB. He was a consensus 5 star QB that was allowed to transfer from Ole Miss freely after sanctions were handed down.

And bringing in Kelly Bryant affects that decision....how?

Again, there's ZERO downfall to this. Yeah, it might **** a few kids off. You sit everyone down and explain we lost 5 games this year (at least). We all need help, coaches included. Here's what I'm gonna change. Here's what you need to change. And we're going to bring in kids that we think can help. How is this any different that bringing in Michael Johnson Jr. to take these kid's job?

Because MJJ is part of the business where you recruit a kid every cycle and develop them; that's what MJJ would've have been. Not some guy that's coming in to be the start immediately.

These kids know that the staff's going to recruit HS kids behind them every cycle. Bringing in Bryant is a different case. And why am I taking a guy like Bryant whom essentially quit on his team?

Or because they're not as good as people thought they were.
Or because they're not working as hard as they should.
Or because they have poor attitudes.
Or because they can't stop smoking weed.

We're not there. We don't know. Yes, the bottom line is these are his kids and if they're not good players, he failed. No doubt. But every coach at every school whiffs on double digit kids every single class. All of em. Maybe he's doing this to kick Perry and Williams in the ***. Or maybe they just suck. Regardless, bringing a kid in to compete is never a bad thing. Saban brought in Jake Coker a few years ago. Is he a ****** coach?

Ah, the one time a GT QB won a title and that's the standard. So Saban did it that one time and it'll work all of the time. Perhaps, Saban lost a lot of his QBs from previous cycles because he had AJ McCarron that scared off the competition at Bama and was left with little depth at the QB position when McCarron was drafted.

Kelly is a smart kid. So we should stop worrying about him coming here. By the way I fully expect one of Perry or Williams to not being on this team next year.

I agree. Perry hasn't shown me enough to be gifted the job. Bring in a transfer and have a legit competition for the job over the summer/spring.

Well, it sounds like we are more in this than people might think. CMR is leading this.

Bryant gave a one on one in depth interview to Keith Niebuhr, the Auburn 247 guy.

He is looking for someone to continue to develop him. He feels he can get better. Not set on any system- ie spread. ( like Clemson).

CMR is pitching him an offense of pro style with a mix of spread and RPO included. He is really intrigued by our receiver room and the mix of options available. He is also drawn by CMRs rep as a QB guru.

Going to Miss state this weekend. Miami is next weekend- wants to spend time in person with staff and see what their plan is for next season.

Will go back to auburn either midweek next week or possibly right after Miami. That’s not determined.

Wants to announce Dec 4-5

Ppl don’t want him becuase quality of player isn’t the problem it’s the coaching. And he isn’t good enough to fix it on his own.

We don't need another average QB just seems idiotic to me KB is not what we need to get us to where we want to be. Bring him in and it just delays Kosi and JW .I want to develope the future KB would hamper this for what another average yr JMO

It says beat his *** out! If you can play, show me and put this kid on the **** bench. Be a man and a leader and show me you're better.

Jesus, all you dudes sit around and jerk off to The U documentaries...how many times was it mentioned that the greatest competition those kids faced was on Greentree? The games were the easy part because the practices were so fierce. Now you're questioning what it will say to Jarren and Kosi if you bring in a kid to compete with them? You come to The U to compete. He's expecting immediate PT...**** right he is. As should Kosi and Jarren. Go take it.

Yeah, somehow recruiting a QB or two this year would have been fine, but a grad transfer will make everybody run for the hills. If the guys we have are seriously scared of a grad transfer then they'll never have the nuts to win here anyway.

Time to harden the fck up.
