Anyone here heard anything about Perry being suspended again?

Totally agreed about impacts on a developing brain. But we also can't understate the societal impact as it relates to "weed culture" and how, for people something like 15-20, getting really really stoned all the time is almost like a competition.

I had a friend, Miami alum, who is now an ER doctor. Dude would get obliterated drunk then go take a final the next day, no problem. Ended up at NYU med.

Some people can handle themselves and some people can't. It becomes very difficult to dissociate the drug with the personality of the person, and using the drug as an excuse to not have their $#!+ together.

I've never done the wake and bake then go to work (sans very not-serious jobs, and very rarely). I get up, I go to work, I operate at a high level. Then I go home, smoke a bowl or two, relax and do it all over again. It's different for different people.

The issue I took, and the genesis of all this, was some clown saying that anyone who does drugs in a liar and a cheat because they experienced one person who did drugs and behaved poorly.

I won't stand for that kind of ignorance. Especially now that science is proving the extensive medicinal benefits of marijuana.
So the crux of your statement is that there are those that have the willpower and wherewithal to control their "vices". I would say that you're the exception rather than the rule although you admittedly have been tokin' for a number of years.

Whether or not Perry is the exception or the rule is obvious to many including myself.

If OP’s post is true about facing 4 games then yes that would indicate his 3rd failed test. It’s pretty rare to get suspended for anything other than a failed test, and it takes 2 fails for weed to face a 1 game suspension.
Jeez. Bowden/Jimbo’s rule were after one fail you get basically a warning/extra sprints. 2 fails and your parents were notified and you had a conference with you parents and coaches. after 3 you have another conference, suspended for a game, and have to take a drug course through the program.

didnt randy moss get kicked off of FSU for essentially failing drug tests?

Way before my time but I believe so. I’m talking during the Bowden/Jimbo crossover years. If you got kicked out for weed, then you just didn’t give af.

Their was a bulletin board at the entrance of the locker room with important info every day. On any giving day there would be a list of players being tested. You just had to pee before practice/meetings started so that gave players plenty of time to get a sub. Many players kept empty medicine bottles in their locker just for that reason. Team administred tests weren’t supervised either.

right because the typical college newspaper student has personal, societal and social views that line up with the football team.

This. Our college newspaper is about on par with a decent high school one but this is not surprising at all. The wheelhouse material of most college newspapers is to routinely attack their athletic programs.

to be fair, perry is a dumbass for even posting this crap on SM. he's a high profile athlete that needs to act smarter than this. he cant do what other college kids do bc hes not another college kid.

1000% agree. I just know some people will attack the dorks at our newspaper when this is a given.

The working presumption involved is that NK has the capacity to act smarter.

It’s all ran from the top of the athletic department. First test is a warning and early morning workout. Second is 1 game. Third is 4 games, fourth you’re kicked off. I’m sure parents are notified after your second but I’d have to look it up.

Weldon’s 4 game was from is 3rd?

It seems that there is a constant stream of problems regarding the U football program pertaining to the behavior and attitude of its players. This is not a recent phenomenon but has been occurring for many years. On the other hand, I am not aware of any similar problems happening at the number 1 football power, Alabama. If my perception is accurate, I wonder why this is.
