Anyone Else Think The New Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down Thing

Thinking about changing "Thumbs Up" to "Butch Davis" and "Thumbs Down" to "Al Golden". Perhaps replace the thumb icons with images of the two.

haha That would be awesome, but might confuse some people though!

Makes sense since most of the posters here are just learning how to use their opposable thumbs

Good thing about this is if you accidentally like a post that was retarded you can correct that mistake.

Also, when on a PC when you like a post now the page doesn't have to reload. It wasn't a big deal, but a minor inconvenience.

I'm not against this, but I do miss seeing the likes with the names at the bottom

I thought about putting the Thumbs Up down there but then folks would also ask for the thumbs down. You can see the names by hover your mouse over the number.

Don't like it. Anything that requires an extra unnecessary step is failure. With the old system you merely glanced at the names. It was interesting to see who liked the comment. The numbers didn't particularly matter, unless it was an avalanche.

I've seen this before on other sites I post on. golfwrx.com uses it. They also give you a running tally atop the page near your user name on number of likes to your posts. Here's that replaced by reputation comments, whatever they are.

I've never given positive or negative reputation on any site because I don't believe in it. But I have used the "Like" button frequently. Now, with a mere tally and not the name below, there doesn't seem to be any reason to click.
