Who's that super old Dude that coached Kansas st, left, then came back and kicked our *** and went to a bcs game?
Dee Snyder
I know I'm sick and tired of pups who just got off momma's *** postulating coaching offers who suck. Youngsters who go for a little flash, think they're smarter than anyone, and don't realize they don't know half the siht that they think they do.
They don't appreciate the value of performance, wisdom, credibility, reliability, experience, and burn. It's probably because just coming off the *** - they don't remember some things.
There's a reason that a Command Sergeant Major is older than the Private E-1. Just because a guy is a good squad leader doesn't mean he's worth a **** at being Company Commander.
So those of you who keep wanting the newest, latest thing - and feel that someone like Butch Davis is old and senile - he'll whip your Strong, Chud, Mario, Schiano, and all the other turds I've seen mentioned here with regularity - nine times out of ten.
And. Everyone leaves. Young guys - they get a little bit better offer - and they're GONE. It cuts both ways with youngsters.
We absolutely cannot afford one more damned EXPERIMENT.
Or we're DONE.
But you keep flinging out these splashes in the pan. Shows how damned dumb some are.

That man is a goddam genius. 16 time world champion too. I saw him in Palm Beach once.
Op is young and dumb. Nick Saban and Harbaugh are doing great with that smash mouth football.BBB

I think he meant Duke Snyder......Wasn't Dee Snyder some guy with a really twisted sister?
I would rather have a top 10 coach that's a little younger, football has changed over the years.

Nick Saban, Urban Liar, and Gary Patterson say hello. All big time coaches and over or close to 50.

Really? Football has changed?
It also changed after Butch left Miami earlier - and when he got back to college football at 3-9 UNC, he started kicking UM"s ***.
Apparently, it hasn't changed as much as you think it has.
Guysm, you have to run the spread offense guysm, look how many championships have been won with the spread guysm.
My biggest questions about Butch is how his defenses would adapt to the up tempo spread offense of today? Because he hasn't faced them at his time at UNC or UM.
Also, during his time at UNC he had a 28-23 record over a four year period with a lot of talent.
... sick of all these old head Miami Hurricanes' fans not letting go of the past, and clinging on to a dude from 20 years ago so that they can pretend they're still the same guys they were 20 years ago?
Butch Davis to UM is what Joe Gibbs was to the Washington Redskins.
Gibbs was an all-time great with the Redskins during his prime, winning 67% of his games ... But when he came back to re-build the team, he was below .500.
And I'm guessing there was probably a similarly vocal contingent of Redskins' fans who cited what Joe did before for the team, and how he would do it again.
But things change ...
Butch has been away from UM for 15 years ... And he's been out of coaching for 5 years.
Neither of those facts lend credence to the arguments some of yall keep posting, that he is "a sure thing", "can't miss" coaching hire.
I almost wish we'd hire Butch just to shut y'all up. Almost ...

It's changed quite a bit, Butch has never won anything, give me a winner. He's right on the line of being too old, spend the money and get a winner.
This old dude Butch went 8-5 for 3 consecutive years At North Carolina...he never lived up to expectations there...you'll need to stop hyping up this old fart.Only team he beat was us because his safeties continued to run pick 6's off Jacory. Mack Brown took North Carolins tp astounding heights in 96 and 97 I think they were 11-1 both of those years... Butch is no savior...I ride with OP
"Pups." I was there and remember Butch and his inadequacies well. Coaches like Urban, or Saban, or Patterson would slap Butch silly. Even Blandy beat him. No thanks (unless there is absolutely no other reasonable option available).
