Still a necessary statement win, or nah?
Exactly! Who gives a Fck if we beat tamu then lose to a basketball school. They are all must wins if we wanna be back
"What if Florida gets smacked next week by Kentucky?"Cognitive dissonance? Good lord, what an arrogant f%$k! It is one game in a long season. What if Utah does not win the Pac 12 let alone their division? Utah has been a lousy road team, too. What if Florida gets smacked next week by Kentucky? What if Florida gets absolutely embarrassed by Georgia? What if Richardson gets hurt? What if Miami wins the Coastal and wins the ACC?
LOL Yep, enough with the "statement win" talk in September, but especially the first week of the season. FSU will be exposed in the next couple of weeks as well. And UCF making it a Big 4 in Florida? GTFOH"What if Florida gets smacked next week by Kentucky?"
lololol
100% without question...Still a necessary statement win, or nah?
100% without question...
1. Because they’re on our schedule
2. Because they suck
If you lose to a team that sucks, what does that make you?
If App ST can beat TAMU @ College Station, then so can Miami.
The context to recruiting is still true, minus them being a top 10.Friday, we needed to beat TAMU b/c they're a top 10 team and we must show recruits and the State of Florida we were keeping pace with FU and F($)U.
Sunday, we need to beat TAMU because they suck.
Yeah, we need to win every game on our schedule. Sure. Of course. But the knee jerk reaction about "must wins" and "statement wins" for an OOC opponent 1-week into the season was absurd.
The context to recruiting is still true, minus them being a top 10.
TAMU is a massive recruiting program & in recruiting perception is reality. For a team like us that is trying to become a National prominent recruiting power, winning a game against high profile SEC opponent is a major feather in our cap.
And then the fact they just lost to App ST means we really can’t lose...
No matter how one tries to slice it, the narrative doesn’t change, we need to win this game & trying to precursor a potential loss is something we would do with the previous regimes because we knew we couldn’t actually compete.
It’s very simple, we either win because we have the better team, better coaching staff & more effective gameplan, or we don’t. There’s no scenario where we lose & it doesn’t make a statement about our team, because if we win it makes the same statement just in the opposite direction.
Too many people are trying to preemptively set up road block excuses for a potential loss while simultaneously trying to safeguard from any criticism in the event of a loss, unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. If you win, you get the credit, if you lose, you get what comes with a loss.
Now, if we were playing UGA, Bama, Oh ST etc, then yes, a loss wouldn’t mean much because they’re simply better than us in every aspect, but TAMU isn’t on those levels & App ST just proved it.
