Any Word from HS Coaches that were Clamoring for Mario?

I've never been against having him on staff as a positional coach. However, he was angling for the HC job - delusions of granduer. I would not be surprised if Richt has reached out to him for the OL gig.

Anyhow, even if we DID hire him as a positional coach, he'll just turn around and leave at the next chance.

So in 3 years at Bama, he got 2 players from all of South Florida. Man, that South Florida connection is really working out for Bama huh.

His first class at BAMA was 2014, second was 2015. He recruits more than south florida. He has landed more 5 star recruits at Bama the last 2 years than Miami has had in TOTAL the last 10.

Yes Saban signs off on every recruit, yes Saban is a big reason for this success. But it still does not take away from the fact that nearly every HS coach in south Florida loves Mario, respects Mario, and would like to see him at Miami. Why is that difficult to comprehend?

In my experience, it is almost impossible to get any random 6 or 12 people to agree on anything. But out of nowhere, suddenly almost every HS coach in Dade and Broward counties agree that Mario is the best thing since sliced bread. Yet, his FIU teams were not flooded with talent. I do not recall his days at Miami as a coach being overwhelmed with 1st round talent either. But now, after two years with Satan, he is by acclamation, indefensible. Two things bring that sort of consensus -- $$$ in pocket or guns to heads. I'm thinking actual cash changed hands. Saban might have even funded it. With Mario at THE U, the cost for his next prize would go down for lack of competition.

Yes and he couldnt even translate that into winning in the worst conference in football.

Why would you spend any time on a man who has a track record of jumping ship? He doesn't even have any special abilities or specialties whatsoever except apparently hand jobs to high school coaches.

Have no issue with Mario other than I don't think he is a great Xs and Os guy. We have a tight end coach already in Scott who I think has done a great job developing the guys on our roster...if he bolts, bring Mario in. Otherwise I don't see a spot for him...hasn't proven **** as an OL coach except that he can get his superior talent at Bama to play decent enough to clear holes for their stable of 5 star running backs.
