Omar Cooper Jr. hasn't recorded a 40 time that I've seen.

Elijah Sarratt runs around a 4.5 to 4.6

Charlie Becker runs around 4.4

Ability to separate >>> straight line speed.

Barkate isn't slow, but he's not a pure speed guy. But he's excellent at maintaining his speed through his breaks.

Jacobs and Vaughn are both plenty fast.

Correct. Look at guys like Puka Nacua, or Cooper Kupp where their 40 times we’re not good at all, but they are always open. (Kupp in his prime I mean)

I’m not saying this kid is them but affirming your statement that the ability to separate is not predicated on speed

Remember Jerry Rice? He was a 4.71 forty guy ... that worked his *** off, ran perfect routes, excelled at contested catches, and LEARNED how to get separation. Barkate is similar in that regard ... he runs "smart" and knows how to use his skills. Pure speed? He has been clocked between 4.56 - 4.67 from all that I have seen in a casual search. BUT he runs "smart" and works his *** off, with the result that he was one of the THE top WR's in the country in 2025 and was wanted by many when he entered the portal (including ND). Lucky to have the man.

Yep... he's top speed very quickly and in and out of his breaks. Looks like he's running full speed when he catches a slant or an our right out of his break.
