Any experts wanna take a crack at the matchups between us and Da Bulls?

a usf blitz heavy team is a good test for our offensive line, especially the left side with communication.

On defense I want to see how we do with our communication with up tempo teams.

The UF debacle really came down to missed opportunities. They had a few drops that would have been big plays, bad penalties and then 0 risky plays. Super conservative by UF and terrible clock management at the end....they really gave USF a gift if you watched the game entirely
Yeah UiF absolutely blew that game.

It's also why I hate RedZone. Every game tells a story - you can't pick that up reading the box score or just seeing the highlights.

We SHOULD just pound them out and have everyone who tuned in for the upset switching the channel by the middle of the 2Q.

This is Miami of the 21st C though - we've been horrible for years.

What is somewhat nice about the next 3 games is it gives us time to get acclimated against running QBs with probably FSU being the most dangerous

I actually believe Miami jumps out early in this one. Do we go for the throat or let them make big plays to get back in it will be the question.

We have to contain this guy and establish domination in the trenches in order to be ready for Castellanos.

These next two games are going to decide whether we are ready or not for Florida State.

Run the ball....we should be able to lean on them.

The gave up 4.9pc to Boise's lead back and Baugh went 18-93.

I expect a violent, swarming defense and a punishing run game that snuff out USF's hope by the second quarter.

I think Beck will hit on a couple of the deep balls they've been attempting these past few weeks. Bury them early and step on their throats.

Nice breakdown. Was at the Boise St game. A few things to consider.

USF was a +3 in turnovers that game. Boise ran close to a 100 plays but shot themselves in the foot over and over. Kudos to USF on a well earned win. But the 50 yard fake punt TD, untimely penalties, and the turnovers killed Boise. Golesh has a set of brass balls and is a good coach. But it’s a different game if Boise plays relatively clean.

We will control the lines of scrimmage. Minus a meltdown of penalties and turnovers we will control the game.
Why do you guys do that all the time? Take away their long runs or plays of teams or players you don’t like to make them seem bad. Take away Carson Becks plays of 20 yards or more against ND and we don’t beat ND. Therefore ND is better

Why? Because the game trajectory was changed by a gimmick play and BSU looked shocked after it happened. USF had around 100 yds of offense when the fake punt happened close to halfway through the 3rd quarter. They were being dominated up front and Golesh showed his balls and understanding the game was a toss up unless something big happened. Couple that with 2 lost fumbles by BSU in the first half and you can see how truly inept USF was to that point.

If you actually watch the game you’ll see why I made the points I did.

I haven't done a deep dive, but from my amateur view of it...

Canes vs Bulls: OL vs DL - We've said it time and again - we probably have the best OL in the nation and at worst one of the top 3. They are well-coached and have real athletes on their DL, but I expect us to win this going away. Where I could see them giving us fits is if they sell out to stop the run and Beck and the receivers are not on the same page and then we get a couple of turnovers and now, they just have to pin their ears back. Still, we should win this all-important phase of the game. Advantage Canes.

Canes vs Bulls: DL vs OL - We should have an advantage here, but if Brown finds a lot of success scrambling and running the ball, this could nullify our elite pass rush and run stopping. It's a big "IF". I still think our DL will get to Brown in the 2nd half when he's gassed. Advantage Canes.

Canes vs Bulls: Run D vs Brown and his RB's - We have traditionally had a hard time against running QB's and he's one of the best, if not the best in the county. Heatherman's no fool, so I think he'll ghost him and use other techniques and schemes to mute the QB's effectiveness, but make no mistake, Brown will crack off a few that will make us wanna tear our hair out. Advantage Canes.

Canes vs Bulls: Run Game vs Run D - Because of our OL and depth, we should be able to wear them down. I think they'll have some success in the first half and then I think our size and depth will gain us most of our yards in the 2nd half. Advantage Canes.

Canes vs Bulls: Passing Game vs Pass D and pass rush - The one thing the Bulls can do no matter who the opponent is would be to put pressure on the QB and they have athletes in their secondary. However, as long as Beck is healthy and able to take snaps, he WILL pick them apart. And, I do believe our O is still blossoming and will have more weapons and packages as the season wears on. I expect more passes to the TE's and backs. Advantage Canes.

Canes vs Bulls: Pass D vs Brown - Brown is a monster athlete and he can chuck the ball down the field. I haven't been overly impressed with their wide receivers - too many drops and bad routes this season and I don't expect that to get solved in the next 6 days when they play in front of loud crowd at Hard Rock. I think the only way Brown hurts us with the forward pass is by their fast tempo which could result in blown coverages - and the COULD happen. If we are able to contain the run game, which includes not letting Brown run wild on us, we should do well here. Advantage Canes.

Canes vs Bulls: Mario vs Golesh - I want to keep it positive here, but Golesh has done a great job coaching up his guys and making them believe. Mario's stock and rating will certainly go up with each victory as a game day HC. I don't know Golesh's staff like I do ours and I really like our coordinators and position coaches. If the game is a nail biter... Advantage...slightly to USF.

Canes vs Bulls: Intangibles - It's really hard to say. The Bulls BELIEVE after beating UF. We believe after beating ND. Their tempo on O could catch us a couple of times for big gains. They won't be bothered by the heat and humidity. It's on our crib and they are coming off the high of beating the Gaytors.... Advantage Canes.

Prediction: It's as simple as this - if we are -2 TO's and Brown weaves some magic and doesn't wear down the entire game, the Bulls just might steal one from us. It could happen. But, I think Mario, Dawson and Heatherman will have our guys locked in and I will say - as long as Beck is relatively healthy, it's hard for me to see him losing a regular season game, he's just too smart and has the tool kit to get it done when needed.

Score: Bulls 17 - Canes 38. Close game in the first half and then our depth takes the game over and we pull away in the 2nd half.
The way you talk about Brown you would have thought he tore us up running the ball at home last year yet he was. 14 carries for 27 yards 1.9yard per carry.

I’m not going to predict a clunker occurring this week or any other. But the way this team is built mitigates the amount of clunkers you have. We have a lot of strengths, but being who we are on both sides of the line of scrimmage increases your margin for error in games.

Again, we will impose our will on USF due to the discrepancy in talent, but specifically the *** kicking we’re going to give them up front. Take the points.

Let down game ahead for the Bulls, especially after the win over the gators. They won't catch Miami slipping.

I think we just blow them out and its never really close. Miami is built different this year...a more complete team that won't let this game become a rollercoaster. The holes on the roster are too small for a team like USF to exploit.

The Briles system is typically a one read and throw offense, backside WRs don't even run routes at times, disguise coverage and take away that initial read and the offense gets stuck.

Also, we are gonna win by 3 scores. They’ll have our full attention after the last 2 weeks. We’re good at home. They’re gonna be drunk till Wednesday, and for good reason.

Not worried. They didn’t pressure Lagway much at all, and we’re not gonna score 9 points on 3 redzone trips in the first half. 35-20 good guys.
I think we roll as well, but something more like 38 - 13. I think we are going to run the ball down their throats and go into halftime up like 20 to 7 and pull further away in the 2nd half. It’s not like USF was going up and down the field on the gaytes. Our D & O are better than theirs by a lot.
