I would normally agree with this, but given Al's horrific record at losing some many players every year you have got to start shading everything in favor or the player now. Especially since Al excuses his recruiting misses by saying his recruits are "high character" types. Al could not even keep Flowers a fourth year. Olinemen usually play 4 and sometimes stay 5 years. Instead kid takes enters daft early in year loaded with OTs. And, you can't blame an agent for it cause he doesn't have one. How many years of a bad locker-room are you going to blame on players?
Utterly ridiculous to pretend that Flowers leaving for the draft is a knock on Golden. No matter how much you hate Golden, that's just a ridiculous conclusion. Flowers left early, as expected, because he was projected to go in the first round.
Numbers and pattern of behavior give plenty of excuse to blame Al. Add that to kids connection to Duke and reasoning gets better. You can bet the bank that if Flowers had stayed, Al would have had a press conference claiming credit-- again that is his pattern, remember. Granted, Al would not have taken any questions from the press after a backhanded slam to Duke and mom, but the photo op would have been there.
Blaming Golden for real issues is fine. Blaming him for EVERYTHING is beyond stupid. Flowers was told he'd go in the first round of the draft. As the vast majority of players do when told this, he opted to enter the draft. Flowers decision was no different than that made by countless underclass players around the nation every day, under every coach from the worst non-Power 5 coach to Nick Saban.
You like to make things personal. Ignoring attrition as a crucial component to evaluating any manager's performance cannot be measured on a scale of stupid and beyond because it is could only come out of a <80 IQ. Al has made major issue about lack of depth since he got here and used it as an excuse many times. Remember when Randy's players were the one leaving early or was that before your birth. Al's insistence continuity being crucial and his refusal to change anything leaves him defenseless in the face of repeated failures. Your insistence on defending him leads to the possible conclusion that you are related to Al.
If Al was not deserted by so many players every year, your objection would have more merit. Al's history destroys giving him the benefit of any doubt. I suggest you study some statistical analysis methods before you mouth off.
