Another Stand-up Move By Rick (and Manny)

He 100% can win. I've been to some of his events and he clearly has a large segment of support in the neighborhood, and knows what it'll take to win. He's a lot more approachable than the current incumbent, and people know where to find him because he literally goes walking the neighborhood. He's not a young kid. He's graduating with a Masters in Public Administration, which literally makes him qualified for the role. He's been doing philanthropy in his area for a long time. Youth isn't a disqualifier.

You think being educated means anything in miami dade politics? Lol
Did you just move here. I’ve been in municipal government for 20yrs and it’s all about seasoned relationships. He’s not there yet. Now I hope I’m wrong and he does win. Great kid.

Why can’t a young man African American , who played ball at the university of Miami (who was very good before his injury), with two degrees and whose been about his community since day 1 represent his community. A community that needs leadership. Why??? And not to mention he already has the connections, I’ve hear Donna is backing him along with others. What’s the problem ?

Already answered this question. Again hope I’m wrong.

Such an upstanding guy you are. Conservatives hate the notion of socialism/communism because it threatens the idea of white supremacy.

wut

Oh..you mean because of all the famous people of color that become socialist/communist leaders like Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky...or in the Asian countries how the prevailing majority group is where the leader comes from, like Mao or PolPot..or Fidel in Cuba whose father came from a wealthy ruling class family

In the end, all that can be judged is the economical and governing efficacy and fairness of the political system...all massive failures

Russia... need I say more. China? It’s a full on market economy now, the only thing the remains of communism are the despotic leaders.

Meet the new boss.....same as the old boss

He's running for state office overseeing an area where he has connections. He's literally been doing work down there for years supporting the community. The biggest issue for a challenger is the incumbency bias due to name recognition, but he actually has that recognition down there. Like I said, I've actually been to his events. The community is there pushing for him. In 2018, there were only around 16k votes for the election. Just being able to help register people to vote can change that dynamic. He's already hosted events in Overtown where his largest base of support is, and he's starting early enough that he can build grassroots support in the rest of the district.

His degree means little, the incumbent has several degrees and apparently hasn't delivered.
A degree in public administration is different than a degree in education. PA degrees focus on policy and management, which will allow him to work better with local officials to implement policy. There is a lot of pride in the area for him. He's a Booker T. Washington alumni with a masters degree that played football, and is well known in the community.

I hear ya', but regardless of what degree He has, CAN...HE...DELIVER???

I hear ya', but regardless of what degree He has, will, He, deliver??? As a former resident of that district, hope He can if He's elected.
From my interactions with him in person, he will 100% deliver. He's incredibly passionate about this, and really wants to create change. As a reminder, he's directly responsible for the transfer portal. He's used to working with others to achieve things.

I appreciate his background and you don’t have to explain degrees where I have a BS in criminal justice a Masters in Public Admnistrstion and a Masters in International Business & Law.
Again I hope I’m wrong and he wins.

He is a competitive Cane through and through. He'd like you to know he's not running to lose. 😤

Didn't know about His involvement with the transfer portal, that's good to know.

Is He hitting the high schools in that district?...lotta potential votes there.

Like the fact that security & affordable housing are part of His platform, I used to live and go to school in 109, lost quite a few friends & classmates to senseless gun violence.

Lastly, He needs to look into Opportunity Zones, lotta potential there.

He's actually talked about a lot of that. In regards to HS, he currently is the D-line coach at BTW, so he's involved there, and he's done some events aimed at younger members of the community.
