Another late UM signee could come this week ?

I'd probably rate him in the same group as Cleveland and Gaines who both had solid tools as prospects. Brown I don't really like at all but Grimsley can be a really solid player if he adds size. If he committed 3 months ago this thread would probably be a lot different. He has three really big plus qualities as a run blocker.

There is no difference except goldens diamonds in the ruff have faired worse thus far

If this kid does that at 240 lbs, meaning he prob really weighs 220, I dont wanna see the kid at 300 +. Wrecking ball. Def has the right attitude.

No offers for McKenzie, Dowels, Cerenord, Battle, Wilson, or Flowers.

Two absolute bums and nobodies that will never play a meaningful second here? Full scholarships.

IIRC Flowers had an offer from us at safety, and Cerenord had a non-commitable. However, it's embarrassing that we didn't offer some of those guys.
 
Looks nasty and strong. I like that. From up around Jax, so helps plant a few more flags up there. We have had monster size lines for a few years and I have not been impressed, so I have no problem with some nasty smaller kids, especially in the middle.

I am not against these choices without scholarship reductions but this is what is puzzling about a few recent additions/decisions.

1. Garret Kidd given a scholarship,
2. Joe Brown OL, and
3. Tyler Grimsley OL (possibly being added)

None of these kids will have any impact on the 2014 season, it just seems weird too me when you could take the reductions now instead.

No he shouldn't... Was Howard an All-ACC selection? If not then Gunter definitely wasn't deserving... Gunter is decent... That's all... He's not bad but he isn't an all conference caliber player...

I like Kidd... He earned his... He may not see many reps but he contributes on special teams as well... As for the other two they are risky takes but you have to trust the coaches... However sometimes you have project the prospect long term... Some players are great high school players but are sub par college prospects... He may be a nasty 240lb lineman on the hs level but how will he handle the added weight? Can he add weight? How many d1 caliber players did he face? These are some considerations that should be taken into account... I'm sure the staff has done this which explains their offers...

OUCH! That one hurt like ****. ****. I trust Al when it comes to evals but these last two guys are real head scratchers. People seem to like Grimsley but he wont be useful until his 3rd or 4th year in the prgm. He needs to put on at least 60lbs. Who knows if Al will even be here by then. Just find this puzzling considering his speech on the Joe Rose show last year about how "Offering kids who dont have Miami level talent isnt fair to the kid".
