Another kicker option

Camden Price is a preferred walk-on who was the 13th rated kicker in the country in 2018. It appears he doesn't have the leg strength Baxa has but his forte' is accuracy. Might be nice to have someone a little more trustworthy for kicks inside 40 yards.
Especially since it's the short kicks Baxa is allergic to.

IF this is a viable option and if I'm Baxa then I love this idea. Once you get past the part of being deemed inept at part of your job (the short kicks) then you realize that you're left in a spot where your new role is almost all potential for glory with much less risk for ridicule.

Hitting the long kicks can make you a hero. Missing them really only comes with short term blowback.

Price hasn't kicked in a game so its presumptive to say he's accurate.

But he should get an opportunity against CMU to get him some experience. Just like any other player.
He did see limited action against Bethune, maybe they will try him out vs Central Mich

Ideally, you'd have Baxa kick off. He's been doing a GREAT job there. But you could use Price for shorter field goals (the ones Baxa seems to struggle on)

Price isn't even on scholarship so carrying two game day kickers isn't really an issue.

There. FIFY. (but agree with what you say).

leg strength is great but I'd rather have a kicker that's true inside the 40 and on extra points than a kicker that can make 1-5 on 45+ and the rest of the time he's killing fans to the left and right of the uprights.

your gonna have a lot more 40 in than you will have 40+...plus a mixed extra point can cost you a game especially if you start trying 2 pointers trying to get it back.

As a former kicker in high school ( i actually knew and trained with Pat O'Donnell) i can tell ya its all mental with baxa. His mental state and confidence is shot and we need to seriously give camden a shot. Same thing with feagles, his shi**y punting got him all messed up last year
I don't claim to know anything about kicking but if you saw the look in his face against UNC before the field goal he missed, it was clearly the deer in headlights look. Something has his confidence wrecked and I'm not sure he's going to be able to get it back.

yeah, you don't really take a lot of heat for missing 45-50 yard field goals.

Well then, he's never missed a kick!

I say let him try the first FGs inside 40 yards. Give him a chance!

Nah. Give the kid a try with any FG inside the 35 yard line. After all, Diaz has nothing to lose and what not. Seeing that it's going to be another punishing beat down game for Miami. hUh

13th rated kicker bit not on scholarship? Seems off. Or maybe he only wanted to attend Miami.

Let bubba kick the Hail Marys since his kicks are that anyways. Staffs careers possibly hinge on it. He’s already major contributor to two losses
