Amount of progress needed in year 1

Yet, there was one minor thing you neglected to address; NFL scouts. You see, NFL scouts side w my argument, that these Miami teams were fully capable of winning w the amount of talent they had on them...the common dominator was poor coaching.

Really? Then why aren't they drafting our players?

Only 7 defensive players drafted in 5 years. Two of them were Vernon and Spence. Total Shannon guys.

because their technique are absolutely horrendous on both sides of the ball. Have you even read their individual scouting reports?? The only consistent thing you read in them is about how technically unsound they are. The only exception to that notion were Clive and Denzel

Was AQM not considered a blue chip? Tracy Howard? Artie Burns? Deon Bush? Tyriq McCord? Anthony Chickillo? Corn Elder? Duke Johnson? Was Denzel Perryman not begged to come here and wound up being # 2 as the Butkus Award winner? Was not Jermaine Grace considered a Blue Chip? What about Stacy Coley? Wasn't Lawrence Gager an Army All American? Was Ralphael Kirby not considered the No. 5 OLB in the country? Was Erek Flowers not considered an ESPN and UA 300 player? Was not Jelani Hamilton considered the No. 9 DE in the nation coming out? Was Malcolm Lewis not ranked as a top 200 player in the Nation coming out? Beau Sandland, No. 1 JUCO TE coming out? JRock...was he not an ESPN 300 player? Was Anthony Moten not considered a top 10 DT in the nation???

Two 5-star guys on defense.

Tracy Howard and Anthony Chickillo (Ha!).

Artie Burns was a first round pick. So...

Muhammad was suspended for an entire season and might not play this year.

Corn Elder was a 4-star running back. Nobody had him at corner. He's been hugely productive too.

Perryman was a beast.

Jelani Hamilton was a total bust and not because of Al Golden's coaching. That's poor recruiting.

So in 5 years he had 7 defensive players drafted and you could only come up with one interior defensive lineman. And he was the last guy you mentioned.

The recruiting was garbage. Period.

Was the recruiting garbage or the coaching? See this is what I don't get about you....you ask where were all the blue chips were, OK...I answered you. You then rebut by saying what they did here. UHHHHHH, that's the whole point!! So it just so happens that all of these expert recruiting services all favored the guys that Golden recruited, yet 80% of them are bust?? Why r these recruiting agencies even allowed to exist??!

So let me get this straight, I'm supposed to believe Vegas experts, but I'm not suppose to believe 247, Yahoo, and ESPN's experts on high school players? So your argument is that, even though these guys were highly ranked, since they were bust under Golden's watch, he recruited poorly...yet it never dawned on you that maybe he's just a poor coach???

Yet, I'm the comical one. Lol

(Clap, clap, clap)....GREAT!!! Now go ahead, compare that against other teams we played against, and who are in the Costal. Go ahead and compare that to TCU, Baylor, KState, Iowa, and Michigan State's classes. Don't worry, I'll wait, no pressure.

Did Al Golden make Artie Burns a 1st round pick?

Yes or no.

If you don't think so then I don't think your question has any relevance.

You're asking "really", and yet, is this not what NFL scouts have said regarding our prospects??

I don't know what they've said since I've been focusing on their actions.

They're not drafting Miami defensive players.

They can talk all they want. You can believe every word of it and it doesn't change the fact that our defensive players don't get drafted.

no he didn't, he became a first round pick after the combine, not when he was playing here. Again go read his scouting report

Bruh, do me a favor...unless you're truly ready to discuss facts, facts that are tangible, stop responding to me.

More comedy.

This 'bruh' is talking about facts while at the same time using hearsay from scouts as his evidence.

The facts are that these scouts are not drafting our players. Period.

What everyone has said is that if Golden and Scott can lead a team that wasn't that "talented" (per you), to 8 wins, shouldn't a proven head coach who will have an easier schedule than what he's accustomed to, do more??

You same losers said this with Shannon and Golden!

Get rid of the old bum and the new guy will definitely win!

Except it didn't happen.

People talked about how talented we were when Shannon took over and how talented we were when Golden took over.

Enough.

Get real.

because their technique are absolutely horrendous on both sides of the ball.

Since when do industries that rely on talent care about someone's easily correctable technique?

The draft is a meat market. They draft on measurables and talent.

Skill and technique often go undrafted.

i gave you the reasons already cornball, they're considered projects....every single one of them not named Denzel. Again every player that has had a scouting report done by anybody has clearly stated they're either raw, "extremely raw", or a "project". That's NFL talk for his technique sucks.

Anthony Chickillo Draft Profile ? NFL.com

Anthony Chickillo
BOTTOM LINE Technically sound player who lacks the desired burst and pass-rush skills to be a full-time defensive end and needs more bulk to play inside. Chickillo could use more length, but with his arm extension and strength at the point of attack, he could find his way as a backup strong-side defensive end in a 4-3.

i gave you the reasons already cornball, they're considered projects....

I've read a whole bunch of them and the only one so far that mentioned bad technique was....

Artie Burns!

A first round pick.

Chickillo was 'technically sound' and was a 6th round pick.

Technically sound and 6th round pick = not very talented

Artie Burns Draft Profile ? NFL.com

Tape isn't his best friend. Extremely raw and undisciplined. Leggy and grabby in routes. Flagged for four pass interference and two unsportsmanlike penalties. Upright in backpedal and plays with very little bend. High center of gravity prevents fluid change of direction. Coasts on athleticism and talent over proper technique. Turns motor off and on from game to game, and play can be lackadaisical. Would like to see him attack blockers rather than waiting for running back before disengaging.

"Tape is just average. Betting on the combine with him and he'll test off the charts. He's got the traits, but he's not ready yet. He's a good kid who has so much to deal with now that his mom has passed." -- NFL personnel executive.

So you respond to my post about Burns' bad technique by posting a report about his bad technique.

You are really bad at comprehending pretty much anything that is posted on this board.

Anthony Chickillo

Anthony Chickillo, DE, Miami (Fla.), NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

more technique talk

Limited repertoire of pass rush moves and isn't the type of end who will frequently get his shoulder past the shoulder of edge blockers. Needs to add more tricks to his ****nal. Aggressive hands, but needs to be more effective using them. Tracks the play well, but needs to better anticipate and often seems a step late in pursuit of the play.

but he can play 3-4 OLB for the Steelers right??
