I wanted Temple's AD, don't even know who it is, but they keep losing coaches and putting good seasons together. Then remembered he hired Manny Diaz and now I'm out of ideas, maybe it was a lapse of judgment and he's so lucky that the universe fixed the mistake for him;

Tbh I have no idea what an AD does, it looks VERY bureaucrautic and far removed from having any impact on Ws/Ls in my eyes. We just notice them when the football team is bad.

Richt himself was the right hire. The problem with cmr was o.c. should've been a given & no johnny boy. Get real people in those 2 spots were good.

agree. I think - to a lesser extent - something similar could have been said for Alf. At the time, I think he was a good hire to ride out the storm. But like Richt, he tied his horse to an anchor.

Even "right hires" make bad decisions as your post points out. Right now the dream hire from our fans is Urban Meyer (not happening). I can only imagine what would happen the moment fans see one or more units of the team performing poorly. "Fire the ___ coach!" CIS experts will say. Urban will be stubborn and believe in Urban. Then people will note that Urban can't recruit at Miami like he did when he was at OSU or UF. "The game has past him by." and "Bagmen helped him at his old jobs." and "There was a huge fanbase at his old schools." is what we heard about Richt and I guarantee you it will apply to even the best possible hires we make going forward.
Our fans are ******* morons so theres that...

High Smith would be better suited for a position that focuses solely on football. The AD needs to run the entire athletic department. Highsmith would has to make decisions regarding basketball, baseball and even women’s badminton not to mention deal with academics and donors. I don’t know if he’s qualified for all that.

For anyone thinking this BoT is going to hire a man, here is the mission statement from our Chairwoman of the Board on her Institute for Diversity and Inclusion:

Founded in 2018 by Hilarie Bass, the Bass Institute for Diversity & Inclusion works with senior management of companies, law firms and institutions around the world to identify and create effective strategies to retain women throughout their careers, and elevate them to senior management roles. The institute's work is based on intimate knowledge of why women leave companies and the factors that can help make them stay.
This is why we can't have nice things.

Moderns humans ruin every ecosystem we touch. If you dont think that has an effect on the planet you're a fool.
Greta I did not know you were a fan of the U.

Highsmith would be a big caliber hire. This is serious professional who would immediately put our athletics on different trajectory. He, actually, would have a clue about running the department.

Ridiculous.... just get me someone from outside who doesn't give a cr@p about Hecht politics and the butchs that want to control everything

I'll throw Butch's name out there as well.

I'm not one of those that ever wanted him back here as a head coach, I feel his time in that capacity is coming to an end ala Richt. However, I'm intrigued by the thought of him overseeing the program from a higher altitude.
Ya know, that's not the worst idea.
