I moped in the first quarter because I thought we were in for what we all have endured over the last 15 plus years. A national tv beatdown against a ranked team.

Good for our coaches and players for fighting the whole way and not throwing in the towel when past teams would have.

I don’t condone the antagonistic nature of the OP but Confidence is a good man so I’ll let it slide

But I said as much in my post last night. I did change the channel briefly. Not because I was giving up necessarily but I’m like man I’m way too invested in this game right now and it was killing me to see us come out like that.

The slurper side in here is desperately trying to beat on the mopes for anything they can latch onto. The problem is that there really isn’t a divide on the season outlook and play on the field, unlike the divide in recruiting, so it’s just annoying. Here’s the pre-season poll results:

Reason is hard to come by, especially on a message board. You're the only maude/mod who is always even keeled. ****, I can only think of a couple other posters in general who are the same @htownkidd & @bobbydigius. We're all fans & I know that automatically involves some extreme emotion so it is what it is but I just respect people who operate the way you do.

Much appreciated. I don’t think people should be discouraged from posting on here because people of another opinion will attack them. There are far better, more even-keeled Maude’s than me. I’m the most visible but these other guys do a lot that no one sees and they also talk me down off the ledge plenty but no one sees that either.

For the record, I didn’t predict 8 wins. I said this team should win NO LESS than 8 games this season. I said there’s no excuses for this team w/ a coach of this caliber should win less than 8 games. That should be our bare minimum. I also said I don’t like fans trying to create built in excuses if that doesn’t happen.

Pssh. I might have missed that thread as I didn't hang out much at all in Eye in the Sky... but if I'm being honest I might have voted 8-4 as well! That doesn't make me a mope, nor does pointing out the insufferable ******** who spew mopey zero-value contributions to **** near every thread make me a slurper.
