evidently only certain people have to respect other people's positions. the ones neatly packaged together and approved to you by the government via the media.I respect your position as Guy Who Gets To Decide Who's Legit.
In the same way it's exhausting to wake up and see everybody pretend like racism isn't a thing, or is this different?evidently only certain people have to respect other people's positions. the ones neatly packaged together and approved to you by the government via the media.
it's gotta be exhausting to wake up everyday seeing everything as oppression and racism and victimhood.
i dunno. I go to restaurants, bars, the gym, football games etc and it sure seems like to me everyone of all backgrounds getting along just fine.In the same way it's exhausting to wake up and see everybody pretend like racism isn't a thing, or is this different?
While I disagree with kneeling during the national anthem, what happened to Kaepernick was wrong and uncalled for. He was well within his rights to express his opinion in that manor.
I’m also of the opinion that fining Del Rio for his comment is also ridiculous, and I’m sure he’ll be shunned by the league as well. He’s dumb for even commenting on politics, but it’s his right as well, just like it was Kaepernicks right. I hate how both situations turned out.
Respectfully, Rellyrell, it’s more than an exaggeration to call that the most disrespectful thing in our democracy’s history and you know that. I hate politics and I try to find a happy medium of common sense, but I’d like to hear what you’d have to say about some of the terrible things that came from the BLM protests in some of these cities as it directly relates to Del Rio’s comments. These events were equally as shameful and that was Del Rio’s point. If you believe Kaep was well within his rights as I do, do you believe Del Rio was?
BLM the organization turned out to be a pretty good operation for laundering large sums of money and enriching very, very few people.Antifa and BLM are both staunch advocates for a Marxist Society. They both took a tragedy and exploited people's right outrage to further their cause ..The cities that were set on fire and looted were not done by those who were protesting the Murder of Mr. Floyd , but rather those those who had a political agenda or were opportunist .
Politics has no place in sports period. If anyone wants to have a conversation about that “hero” Floyd or the “insurrection” on January 6th, that’s fine. This is not the place for that. Unfortunately people can’t handle facts and only narratives. You can downvote all you want but after over 20 years in the military and in DC I don’t care. Just please use facts not feelings. I could give a rats **** what you think about politics here just our Canes. That unifies us no matter left or right or color or religion. Feel free to DM me if you want an educated debate on political topics. Inwould be very happy to educate anyone who is willing to learn.
Semper Canes!!!
Rationale statement.I am an anti-Trumper to the nth degree. I also think Trump is an authoritarian who is doing his best to ruin democracy.
But I believe Del Rio has a right to speak his mind, as I believe Ed Reed has to speak his mind.
If Del Rio had called for violence, he should have been fired. But his wrongheaded remark fell far short of that.
Friend, compadre, mi amigo;
I like to speak from an intelligent standpoint v. emotional & illogical pov. Two yrs ago, we saw a group of militants storm The Capital in the hopes of catching politicians who were in opposition of The POTUS w/ the intent to inflict bodily harm. They broke through barricades, broke windows, doors, ignoring secular authorities, & the intent was to disrupt the democracy. Yet, that’s called a dust up.
OK, on the other hand, we have a QB who’s tired of convoluted laws that don’t protect ppl like me. U wanna know how many times I’ve been pulled over in my city just for driving a nice car? W/e u guess, it’s too low. U wanna know how often LA Sheriffs have pulled a gun on me b/c I fit a description or left a girl’s house in a certain neighborhood? Whatever # u have in ur head, it’s too low. I’ve had my neighbor’s autistic son get brutalized & murdered by Compton Police (which is y they don’t exist anymore) in front of her home, all b/c he was naked outside, incoherent b/c he wasn’t on his meds.
That’s reality, champ, & it’s hard for many to fathom that in the land of the free, ppl of certain color & ethnic background get treated as second class citizens. That’s what the kneel was for; it wasn’t to disrespect a lot of great qualities The U.S have to offer, but to accentuate a time for a change. How can u pledge an allegiance to a system that’s broken? That’s what Kaep was saying; and since he initially was sitting on a bench, a Green Beret told him do this instead b/c sitting is being disrespectful. So he obliged; yet ask some, and that’s the worst thing in America’s history. Lol.
Regarding BLM, personally I thought it was bull chit. U can ask anyone in my family, & I said this movement feels propaganda for something else. The fact is, BLM brought more attention to the LBGTQ community than my own. There’s a specific reason for that; & the founders became rich off of it, which they r now under investigation. They ain’t nowhere to be found now, right? Buffalo just happened & them chicks is ghost city. With that being said, pls understand, ppl riot out of pure angst & anger. All of our major riots have been spawned from deliberate injustice, whether that’s the Watts Riots in the 60’s due to LAPD killing an innocent man, Riots in the 90’s for LAPD brutalizing a driver, Riots in the 20’s in Rosewood, Fl for killing young black men & making it public event.
My guy, there’s a reason E Reed vented his frustration; yes this is a country geared for free speech, but like anything, just b/c it’s free doesn’t mean it doesn’t come at a cost. Do I think we live in a hyper sensitive world now? Absolutely, but there’s a stark difference between hyper sensitive & flat out ignorant. Calling an insurrection as a dust up is ignorant, especially when said insurrection resulted in the loss of lives. So what’s worst; a ball player making a stand for social injustice or a militant mob looking to impose harm on those elected to office?

I agree with a lot of what you said, but It was an organized coup. There were representatives in Congress helping. Why are people afraid to call it out for what it was?I think you mean figuratively, not literally. No one has been physically slapped.
As I said, I don't see a first amendment issue because Washington ownership can make reasonable restrictions on what employees can say because it could affect the company's profits.
Now outside that employer restriction and just looking at content, I think there is interesting narrative control going on. If you look at history, disputing the results of elections goes back to the beginning of the country. It's happened many times, but the important difference is it was always non-violent b!tching about the results. Personally, I disagree that the election was fraudulent, but I don't think someone who claims it was fraudulent is automatically a racist. What is generally unprecedented is people trying to stop the transfer of power with violence.
I also don't think it is racist to hold the opinion that a thousand or so rioters didn't actually pose a serious threat to democracy and that claiming the country was on teetering on the edge of a coup is a bit of an exaggeration.

George Carlin....."It's ONE BIG CLUB, & your *** ain't in it".....A **** ton of drama on this board. Both parties suck. One does a better job of messaging. One does a better job of managing the books. It’s the same cycle always. We’re in the part when people realize the current party in the White House sucks at making our lives better. Get over all of it people. They ALL don’t give a **** about you. If you’re believing anything any of these people tell us, you’re not paying attention. Protect your family, beliefs and money. They certainly are. []_[][]V[]
Everyone’s entitled to their opinions and that’s protected in the constitution. Let’s win some football games and hopefully when this coming season is over, your wallet is a little fatter.
I couldn’t have said it better, myself. Props, bruh.Friend, compadre, mi amigo;

in the NBA, it happens every time an official sucks and gets called out for itHas an athlete ever been fined for sharing his opinion before?
definitely was not going to succeed as a coup and most of the people that stormed the capitol probably had no idea they were being led in to the capitol by such dangerous groups such as the Proud Boys and the 3 percenters etc. however the suggestion by some that went on that day was some walk in the park or peaceful protest is obviously absurd. there was almost definitely high level coordination between the leaders of these groups and high level trump allies and possibly some members of the House of Representatives. it remains to be seen but we need to find out what trump knew if anything.Do you honestly think a thousand or so idiots were going to succeed in overthrowing the US government? Maybe because my parents came from countries where there were actual successful coups, I have a different standard for judging threats to democracy.
Shirtless weirdos wearing American flag capes and Viking helmets and running through the halls of congress knocking down marble busts seem a lot more like drunken frat boys than serious revolutionaries. Now if elected officials were, in fact, encouraging the behavior, those elected officials should be held accountable. They should be banned from ever holding elected office again for encouraging sedition. Denying election results isnt seditious ( as I said in another post, that's a tradition as old as the country,) but encouraging rioters to break into buildings to try and stop the election certification is crossing the line and is an extremely serious issue. I completely agree with a congressional investigation to identify which officials encouraged the rioters. However, as far as it being an organized coup that had a realistic chance of stopping the election certification and putting Trump back in power, I don't see it.
