I was checking the news feed and started cracking up when I read, “Ole Miss expected to hire elite TE coach from National Championship runner-up Miami.”

I don’t disagree to an extent especially if this wasn’t a common occurrence. Unfortunately, it was.

I would say that Bauman could use this thread as motivation for the CFL and to never ever be lazy and whiff on a block again but then again, I don’t think CHINA has a football league.

Awful player! Shame on the staff for trotting this guy out all season due to their poor evaluation of him and others at that position.

If he wasn’t being called for holding vs Ole Miss, mostly poor blocking every game or dropping passes, he was getting away by the skin of his teeth on a lot of blocks that could’ve been called holding (Fletcher TD Run). To top it off, being a lazy, soft **** on that punt “protection.”

It’s a team game but this guy stood out like the little girl in the red coat on Schindler’s List every **** game.

I suspect Marty doesn’t have his own thread, however, because he’s been solid all year.

I don’t understand how Marty, Bauman, etc could be so not locked in there.

The difference is, Marty is the first line of defense. He ****ed up. Which makes Bauman the last line of defense and he must hold, strangle, murder, whatever is necessary for your Australian punter not have the ball blocked.

The punter also must realize you can’t Australian punt every time especially down close to the end zone. Just get it away!!

Anyone ever heard of Vinny Gonzalez? One of the QBs currently on Miami's roster. 6th or 7th string I think. Let's say Beck had to sit out a play and Cristobal put Gonzalez in the game to take a snap and he just f#cks it up for a fumble return.

am I going to criticize the kid for the mistake? No, it's .1% his fault and 99.9% the coach for putting him in when he had plenty of other options. Bauman could be replaced with a WR or OL depending on the situation and it would have been a better choice the vast majority of the game. Nothing against the kid, that was on whoever decided he should play.

Absolutely. I look at it as a chain reaction that looks like this:

* The Tight End room was thin to begin with.
* With Lofton out, Baughman was going to have extra duty on the offense.
* That's a recipe for his special teams work to suffer.

Yeah... I don't claim to be connected/knowledgeable enough to know how much of it is the TE coach vs other reasons, but I don't think Mario let's him walk to Ole Miss if he thought highly of him.

ST coach needs to be in their ears every time ST take the field... since it is a rare occasion compared to assignments during the rest of the game.

Lack of focus and concentration can lead to catastrophic results... as well saw.
The ST coach needs to be gone... and go find something else to do

That it's very bad.

Many of our fans think we had a sleeping juggernaut of an offense this year. We did not, by any means. We had a massive OL (thank God), Toney (see the previous comment), an above average QB, and a big RB who was effective behind a massive OL.

That's enough quality personnel to make a good offense, but there should be zero expectation that you're going to put up blowout numbers regularly.
