Alabama's dominance in context: Death of CFB

Bump due to other threads talking about bags, 'Bama, and Tua's family. It will be six NCs in ten years if 'Bama wins on Monday. Diaz and his new staff have to be near perfect and get some luck breaks along the way to compete...As does the vast majority of D1 football programs. The past retirement age commissioners John Swofford ($$$$ and Tobacco Road), Jim Delanney ($$$$ and whatever O$Uck tells me to do), and Bob Bowlsby ($$$$ and whatever Texas and Oklahoma tell me to do), need to be forced out by the majority number member schools in their conferences. New leaders who realize Emmert and the $EC do not care about the long-term financial health and competitiveness of college football need to be put in place, ones who will engineer Emmert's "retirement"so a new NCAA president can be installed. It won't be easy (For example, Swofford's relatively lame ACC Network deal gives him more power) but everyone thought Championship Boxing, Indy Cars, and NASCAR, were the immortal golden gooses too...

You are wrong. Nick Saban is the greatest coach in the history of American sports.

He's probably the best college football coach of all time but he's not a better football coach than Belichick. Belichick has won consistently in a league with way more parity.

College coaches can’t be the best coache of all time for the simple fact they are playing at an advantage over so many other schools

Since Emmert has been President of the NCAA (November 2010), the following teams have been FBS football champions: O$Uck, F$U, Auburn, AlabamaX3...If 'Bama wins again this year and you include their Pre-Emmert 2009 win, 'Bama will have FIVE championships in the past EIGHT years. In comparison, Miami dynasty stretch was FOUR titles in NINE years. The NCAA was sniffing around Miami like crazy at that time and the Pell Grant scheme was finally uncovered with the help of snitches like Alum and current E$ECPN tool Dan LeRetard. Alabama? Not a peep out of the NCAA...'Bama, as per plan, reports their dinky secondary violations and the NCAA points to them as proof of "equal enforcement." George Orwell's Animal Farm could be easily re-written with the "more equal" pig being replaced by a "More Equal" Elephant and be called The NCAA's Animal Farm.

The NFL's precipitous decline, brought on by the leadership clown who is Roger Goodell, is a harbinger of Emmert's killing of the golden goose of college football, it's just a matter of time unless a true competitive balance scheme (Athletic Department budget caps, coaching staff size limitations, mandatory booster financial transaction monitoring, mandatory player "employment" reporting, etc.) is put in place by a visionary leader, not a toadie for the big state schools.
Man, it is what it is, and for you guys to come on these sites and cry like babies because #1 we run off every ******* coach and staff we have had, so there's zero chance to establish consistency and #2 you're jealous of what we don't have, which is a direct result of #1

With Golden we never had a chance, But all of this started with Coker and Shalala. The icing on the cake is our fan base. Maybe, just maybe, we'll give Diaz a chance. By year two we should see results, we absolutely will not in year one

Nick Saban = Red Auerbach

Will do anything to bend and manipulate the rules they’re allowed to get away with. I wish we had an administration with the foresight to do the same.

Miami's dynasty coined the phrase "us against the world" in the college football atmosphere that never wanted us there in the first place.

Alabama brought forth the soft, easy way out dik riding mentality that plagues a soft society in the 21st century to CFB, and is in the pockets of the very enforcing entity that would rather spend 3 years using statements said twice as corraborated evidence on middle of the road ACC teams than the COUNTLESS amounts of evidence of foul play

color me not impressed by having every single advantage you can possibly have

Alabama's current run reminds me of Manchester United's run in the 90's.

Hopefully once that figurehead coach retires it all falls apart, like it did at Manchester United. All the tools are still there, but nobody since has been quite able to put it together like Ferguson did.

Of course I've got more respect for Alex Ferguson because he did it on a level playing field, rather than with a stacked deck.

When Saban retires they’ll jus throw whatever they need at Dabo and he will keep the ball rolling.

He’s not even the best coach of his day. That would be Bill ******* Belichick. He’s not better than Jimmy Johnson either. Jimmy won at every level and Saban couldn’t hack it in the pro’s!
