Alabama Love MEGA THREAD

Blah blah blah. So many hot takes, most of them wrong. All this bull about Bama's AD, shows how little people know. It all starts with Bama's boosters.

Bama's football program is basically a professional organization at this point, something different than has been seen in college football, and every year they stride out further away from the norm, further from the rest of the pack.

If you want to admire an aberration, go on ahead.

Where do you think culture comes from, if not the Hc?

Miami isn’t remotely serious in any respect compared to Alabama.
Didn't say it doesn't come from the head coach, but their players are all about team and coaches can preach but players need to buy into it. Players staying in school, playing injured when they don't need to, not celebrating a 5-yard catch and a TFL.

Miami is showing signs of getting there by Manny overhauling the offense last year and what looks to be a promising start on defensive changes this year. But the only player we have like Waddle and ****erson their center is King...this is an innate desire to be the best and isn't something you can teach

All the cards are lined up for us to at least put up a respectable showing. Bama losing a ton of talent and coaching, first game of the year, and neutral site/assumed limited fan capacity. Don’t think we win but we won’t be facing this juggernaut we saw tonight either. Lashlee needs to bring his A++ game for this one. I’m having heart palpitations just thinking about running a QB draw directly into the middle of Bamas DL lol

Nothing makes dudes hit the weights harder and the film room harder than 5 stars in front and behind you and in the incoming class. And the class after that and the class after that.
You got no choice.
Who tf was gonna take fords spot? Tyriq Martin? Who’s was gonna sit pope and wiggins?
****, who was sitting Ivey? If you wanna eat you better guard your bowl cause there are dogs all around you in the playoff teams.
If you run a 4.6 but the guy who signed his loi runs a 4.4 then you better be up and running sprints or watching the track team practice and asking questions.
We got isiah dunson running 4.9 and ain’t nobody losing sleep over that sht.
I wouldn’t even lose sleep over that and I’m old.

That’s how you establish culture and then make sure you get the right coaches or you’ll
end up like uga right now with blue chippers leaving early and transferring.
yep. but it's not only talent but attitude. some guys are serious and some guys are less serious. in high school, both types may dominate and the less serious guy may ball out at some 7-on-7 camp over the summer and before you know it, he's highly rated. but saban ain't messin with that. if the less serious guy goes to alabama he's not going to make it. that serious guy. he works and then balls out. jeudy and devonta smith were in the same class. jeudy was the star first. smith worked, and look at him now. meanwhile we got a head coach who hands out green stars for guys cheering on a play, and gold stars for running fast in the wrong direction.

As a Texans fan I can confidently say that with Obrien as their OC we do stand a chance

they key point is they choose their players. they're choosing the right kind of kids. not just talent level. they get who they want but there are plenty of talented kids they don't target. saban knows what the profile is of an alabama kid. that's really important.

and you point to king ... we got him as a transfer. it should be a heck of a learning moment for our staff to realize that transfers have been most of our most mature and committed kids for the past few years.

The state of alabama has nothing else other than college football. No NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS nor NFL.
The entire state is putting their efforts to help the football team. Their entire self worth is tied to that team.
that's an excuse. it's meaningless. the question for miami is what they're actually doing. if we're doing nothing or dumb isht, whining about what other people are doing is crazy. and plenty of other state programs have the resource potential of alabama. texas, lsu, for sure. uga. ohio state has it in spades. alabama's doing it better.

Correct but they can afford to bench and even transfer guys out if they don’t t put in the effort or if they're just not talented enough. Not every Bama 5 star makes it to the league.
In contrast Here we are trying to find excuses for why pope and Wiggins are still starting.

yes. and that's on us. we've recruited lazy, evaluated poorly, developed poorly, played guys too early, lost guys too early. overall we've had a very mediocre roster most seasons beyond the top handful of kids. pointing to nfl stats distorts the view. most of our kids won't go to the nfl and some kid forced to play as a true frosh may get there one day but he wasn't an 'nfl kid' the year he got his *** handed to him by DEs.

alabama doesn't just recruit and evaluate well, like you note, their competition means kids can redshirt, wait their turn, they got a lot of experienced guys playing, getting pushed by talented younger guys. that. is. how. you. do. it.

when we give it a real try, i predict we'll see improvement.

Saban built the culture and while he's still the custodian of it all, there's a lot of accountability being held up amongst the players themselves. No question, they play for not only him, but themselves and push each other to be the best they can be. I remember those days. Hope to see them again here.

First time starting QB. Probably 3 new starters in the secondary, 2 at LB, one or two on the d line, 3-4 on the offensive line, new rb (Robinson at rb will still give us fits), Smith and Waddle gone.

They are losing an unbelievable amount of talent, unfortunately Saban has a whole offseason to get them ready.
