Because the admin and many of our fans assume that it is a privelege to coach at Miami and it is "easy to win" here. We suddenly decide to bump up our pay because a guy in SEC East had a .7 record for 15 years and he wanted to coach here. Most of the resumes of our potential coaches are dog crap, but fan expectations remain at the pinacle.

I say again, until we acheive a top 10 budget, our coaching hires will be D listers.
 
Those are Piker Numbers!!! If those $ amounts are true, Golden has a Piker mentality.

What Head Coach in the Power 5 would work for a base of $150K? Only $5K from the Nike Deal?

The numbers are from the late 80's, early 90's

I was just about to post that he’s basically giving up on any head coaching job in college, or the pros. Ever.

Nobody wants to hire to a leadership position a sleazy, weaseling and squirming scumbag trying to con his way to extra shekels.

And that’s not happening until we achieve a top 10 fan base. Which we will never have. And by top 10, I mean top 10 in donations, I doubt we’re even top 20. That money has to come from somewhere. Guess where it comes from at the big SEC schools? Other than revenues, which we’re not even close to them anyway, it comes from fans/boosters.

Once you people understand our financial situation, you’ll finally get it.

Miami will always have to do more with less. It’s just that before we’re trying to do more with much much less. At least that is changed. We are always going to be behind the eight ball in terms of spending and available funds.

All you people saying we can get so and so for x dollars have to understand how cheap this school is. 150k for a head coach!!!!’ Now we know why we lost to FSU for years. How fugging easy it is to recruit for um now!!! Hey you know Golden was getting 150k right? You know they can’t wven afford an OC right. You know manny is gonna get poached by someone right. I mean they couldn’t afford kool as a line coach what makes you think they can keep the dc of the number one defense in the country?

I feel like our admin uses that as a crutch and an excuse.

UM has one of the most recognizable brands in college sports. We're the only major college football team on the east coast that's located smack in the middle of a major sports market.

If we don't have money, then we're being mismanaged.

And I feel that those of us who DO spend money on the program and who DO donate are well-served by expecting more from the admin in terms of reinvesting and spending on the program. We can't do much as fans, but if we can pressure the admin to spend a little more on coaches, then that's one positive impact we can have on our winning chances.

Giving the admin a pass by saying "we don't have any money" is a cop out, IMO.
 
He was worried he wasnt going to be remembered as the biggest piece of **** in history
