Golden is a very decent man working in an extremely tough job. I'm glad he is our coach...

RIP JoJo

Al Golden is a good man and a ****ty coach

Nick Saban is a horrible human being and a great coach

Go figure

We will see, Saban has not had to play against the NCAA stuff. He also went to a school that was winning from the beginning to give him want he wanted to create what we see.

Wish he cried like that when our Defense passed away.

Classless and uncalled for. Golden is a seriously fantastic MAN and it shows every time it counts. It is not the time to comment about coaching. May all coaches be half the man Al shows to be when it come to caring about the young men in his care--even those for previous coaches.

I would take a quality person as the coach at Miami over a great coach and horrible person any day of the week. There is more to life than football...

As a coach you spend more time with your players then your family sometimes. When you try to do your best to make them not just a better football player, but with grades, recruitment, life problems, you get extremely close to these kids. I know that if I lost one of my players I don't know how I would be able to handle it, I don't even know if I would be able to continue coaching. It sad to hear this, I hope the entire team and family feel better and get stronger/closer because of this situation. Hopefully nothing like this happens again to them. It's very much a sad day.

Nothing as of yet has happened to write Golden off as coach.... either way, we preach the "U Family".. and we live that..

RIP JoJo and thats the only thing that matters in this

I know you probably didn't mean it the way I'm reading it, but no, that is not the only thing that matters in this tragedy. Along with concern for his family, it certainly is what matters most. But, by no means is it the only thing that matters.

There's a lot of kids, young men and others in town or connected to Jojo that are in pain. That matters and Coach Golden can and will be a big part of helping many of them with their grief and emotions.

God willing, there are lessons that emerge from the tragedy that save other lives. I've talked to my son, who is just at driving age, about it in the hope that it will help encourage him more with respect to driving safety. Those lessons matter.

And, just how our community and program respond matters.

I'm gratified to hear about Coach Golden's reaction and to see his caring--none of which surprises me and all of which being one reason I am such a big fan and hope in the worst way that he succeeds beyond measure here, as much for him as for us.

It all follows what matters most, but those and many other things in this tragedy matter a great deal.

Its great that Al is there for the players and JoJo's family and JoJo death is obviously a terrible and sad tragedy. I wouldnt want anything less in this situation from the school's football coach.

None of this has anything to do with his ability to win football games or whether anyone should feel bad whether wanting him at Miami or not.

Thats all I meant

It's a Miami thing, not just a Golden thing...

True. But he is sure all Cane when it comes to this stuff and is earning his orange and green with it. He is up there with Howard as my favorite MEN who have coached THE U. Family is not measured by wins and loses, it is by tears and being there. Al might not be the best coach in the country but he sure might be the best MAN coaching D1 college football. And you know what, THE U family deserves a MAN like that.

Golden is clearly grieving in this process as well. He has multiple roles as a coach, but also grieves as a man and a mentor. As a person, who views the players as his family. As a person who watched JoJo grieve the loss of his own son, grow into a vocal leader on the team and as a young man about to turn 25 trying to keep his NFL dream alive and care for a young family.

There are lessons to be learned about life, and the perspective gained from loss and tragic events.

It is clear that some can't separate the football coach from the man. That is sad, and I'm not sure what is more depressing, the events of the last 72 hours or that fans of the program and people who consider themselves part of the extended U Family actually act this way.

From reports Golden has spent a significant amount of time at the hospital the last few days with one Cane down and one out, and some of you ***** act like this about football.

RIP #29. Our thought are with you and yours!

Get well soon Hunter!

It's a Miami thing, not just a Golden thing...

Impressive that the statement by the OP encouraged you to write this!

Douchery knows no bounds

Well we had to know the bums would show their faces and ruin a great thread and use this as yet another chance to **** on Al. The man is still in my dog house too but this isnt the time to talk about that ****.
