Ahmmon Richards...

AR Stats in Biggest Games This Season:

3 Catches for 57 No TD's against VT
0 Catches for 0 No TD's against ND

Not trying to downplay his loss (and it's a big time loss), but our Offense doesn't run through him. This game still is on Malik. The WR's are still going to be open. The throws have to be made.

Obviously dont know football. Nd was using a lot of bracket coverage on richards. The guy draws attention when he is on the field.

Well at least we know we either aren't supposed to win this game by some higher power or we're supposed to beat them down half of a team

Good thing our offense doesn’t just run trough 1 or 2 receivers

Richards is a huge lost if he cant play. Teams actually roll coverage to him.

Would be a big loss but Rosier has
22 touchdowns 2280 yards passing without him. Their connection this year hasn’t been all that great and he’s been hurt all season so we really haven’t used him THAT much in games.

Once again he draws attention. That attention creates the matchups for the other guys.

Get it done:

QB Rosier
RB Homer
RB Dallas
WR Berrios
WR Thomas
WR Harris
WR Cager
WR Harley
WR Langham
TE Irving
TE Patchan
LT McDermott
LG Darling
C Gauthier
RG Donaldson
RT St. Louis

I'm absolutely fine with that WR corps. Most glaring spot on there for me is TE. That's why I bet they target Irving a couple of times very early to at least establish a presence. Hopefully he steps up.

This is terrible but I think losing Herndon is worse, that being said I still feel like we have a shot to win.

I'm sick about this. We can't win play to play but Richards had the potential to steal a big play or several.

He might be the best player on the team when right. I have no idea how anyone can underplay this. The only road game I attended this season was Duke. It was also the only game Richards looked close to healthy. He toyed with Duke and the athletic arrogance was a joy to watch. That game looked like Richards from 2016 plus a jolt of confidence.

Obviously that form did not carry over. Richards was never on the same page with Rosier. During the Notre Dame game Rosier seemingly had no trouble connecting with anyone else but he had no idea what to expect from Richards. I was always convinced Richards was making the proper reads but Rosier was butchering matters. But instead of taking it in stride Richards got obviously irritated and was pulled from the game in the second quarter. I'm not sure he ever returned. That was probably discussed around here.

He's a tenacious blocker. We need that type of thing to balance the physical pecking order against Clemson. In 2015 one of the standout aspects of that game was how they mauled us in every facet of the game, including a wide receiver lifting and planting Artie Burns on his *** during a downfield block. I guarantee Richards and other Canes receivers have seen that play and were eager to mirror it.

this, his presence alone changes things

Remind us as to your take heading into the Notre Dame game

These kids came to the U to play in big time situations. THEY CAN NOW STEP THE **** UP AND SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY.

This is absolutely gutting - best player on our offense even on 1.5 legs.

I was was really amazed at the strength of his hands in the Pitt game when he reached the ball inside the pylon with one hand and didn’t drop the ball. Pretty much every time you see that play the ball ends up on the ground and you have to determine control - he had complete control with one hand falling over and being hit. Impressive

We are going to need our receivers to step up in his absence. They have done it all year but this one’s for the conference championship and a playoff berth. Without him and Herndon these guys had better be ready to have the game of their lives.

All setting up in our favor. The stars are aligning for Clemson. Clemson is either gonna play lax thinking they game isnon the bag or they are gonna feast on us. In the past, this would be too big a stage for our team and we’d get nothing going on offense and we’d lose by 35. Hopefully a different team shows up.
