Y receiver to replace CJ Daniels? Vaughn can’t like this. I’d pitch Vaughn and barkate that they will get snaps at Slot as we need to control the volume for Toney. If we are scoring 42 and increase the explosive plays, we have more drives and opportunities on O. That also means more pass rushing needed on D.
Barkate plays outside and is a sure handed possession guy like CJ, so I think that's the natural replacement.

So which one of Moore/Upshaw/Trader leaves after seeing that? And no, I don’t care.
As much upside as he has, if I had to pick one of the 3 it'd be Trader. Moore can be a redzone demon if him and Mensah gel and get the jump ball going. And it seems like every time Upshaw got the ball this year he broke multiple tackles en route to 15+ yards of YAC.

My point, we only have two slots. Spafford and Toney. Cooper for Indiana played slot at 6’1. We need guys that can be possession receivers at the slot when Toney needs a break. I’d prefer someone with years of experience.

What opportunity are you giving the guys you recruited if you keep overloading the position with experienced transfers? Not giving an opportunity to grow so can’t say if they really failed or not
Toney, Trader, Moore and Upshaw all played this year.

Toney played over Tony Johnson. Even Moore & Trader started playing over Tony Johnson.

Just cause you bring in vets, doesn't mean the young kids don't have a chance.

CJ Daniels was a leader in the WR room and showed that from Day 1 and Game 1.

Marion took a while to come out but he worked hard an got better.

The young kids will and have got their chance if they're good enough, work hard enough, and block.

Unfortunately, this isn't the way young people think in this day and age
You're absolutely correct with that statement. College football is a total mess right now and he needs a quick fix. For many players there is no loyalty and it's about money with grubbing agents leading the charge. Recruiting has changed and gone are the days when a good player would stay 3-4 years for an education and a chance to improve their skills fo a possible career in the NFL.

You tryna win chips or cater to young dudes ? This is a new era of college football you have to build a top roster by any means necessary or get left behind tryna bank on potential. Look at trader this year, imagine if we didn’t feel the need for Daniels or Marion because we didn’t want to “upset” trader lol
It's going to take time some for fans to adjust to the new college football world. Marion didnt even start at BYU and he turned out to be our 2nd Best WR here. You bring in talent and let the chips fall where they may

different situation last year. Lost the top 4 wrs and the only returning guys was trader, ray ray, and Carr. What I was saying isn’t about catering to them but at some point you have to give dudes a chance like they are doing at DE next year

This year proved that they’ll play the best guys. You have to fill the room with dudes and let the best players play, simple as that. Everyone here talks about how they want Mario to be ruthless but then we bring in competition and all of a sudden it isn’t as fun to be ruthless?

If these pups get scared off by Vaughn or Jacob’s…both of whom I like but weren’t exactly all Americans….that says as much about them as anything else.

They all got chances during the offseason and during the season lol

Trader dropped a half dozen passes. For all the upside he has and can make plays, he's not reliable.

RayRay was a RB who moved to WR and couldn't figure it out. That's fine.

Carr didn't do anything either. Neither did Chance.

Josh Moore had 2 TDs vs USF lol
Malachi Toney went insane this year.
Upshaw showed flash.

But the veterans we brought in made a bigger difference and there's no debating that.

In years past Moore would have had those touchdowns against usf, we’d have started him the next game, he’d had done nothing and we’d have…kept starting him.

The point of competition is that it forces these kids to earn it every week. I expect Moore to win a starting job next season and a big part of it is he knows he has to push every single week.

I saw Barkate line up everywhere. I think he's the candidate to move around as an X into bunch formations, used as an insert, motion, etc. He really is a great complement to Toney. Better than CJ Daniels in some specific ways.

Bro you should know by now how we operate that nobody is guaranteed a starting spot, not even the transfers. All of those young guys in that WR room will have every opportunity to earn a spot just like Toney did as a true freshman and the cream will rise to the top, I know we’re not used to it but this is what having a championship level program feels like. If a guy is scared to compete & leaves cause of a transfer tweet then good riddance, we want dawgs willing to compete here anyways.

They even trusted him in the biggest game of the year. And depending who you ask, he made a mistake on the screen.

So the kids get their chance when they deserve it.

****, even Trader a pass vs Ole Miss and dropped it
