I mean, did you watch Jamarcus at LSU? Dude was a ****** DOG. One of the greatest arms I’ve ever seen.

Best arm I've ever seen in College Football

Could drop it in the bucket from 60 yards without breaking a sweat.

Unfortunately, Russell was doomed the moment he was drafted by the smoking' train wreck —two winning seasons and no playoff victories in 23 seasons — that was/is the Raiders

Needed to be with an organization with structure and a plan

1. These evaluators rank these players based on pro potential and Lagway still has more pro potential than Mensah (bigger arm, more physical traits, etc). Doesn't mean he will be a better pro, just means he has better traits.

2. We've had the No. 1 or No. 2 ranked portal class each of the last two years, were we bagging on the evaluators then or only when they don't rank our players higher?

I know everyone loves to **** on the Andrew Ivins' of the world, but I will die on the hill that ranking high school and college players is mostly a crapshoot, the difference between the No. 5 and No. 6 quarterback in the rankings is negligible and generally speaking, these guys do a good job.
1. I’m aware. I think it’s a dumb cop out by them.

2. I don’t base my opinions on whether they give the canes credit or not. I legitimately rarely pay attention to many of them because, like I said, their analysis seems to failto consider actual football plays. What do I care what some wahoo who doesn’t understand what they’re looking at ranks Keionte Scott because he doesn’t understand he’ll play a completely different role at Miami than he did his prior year at Auburn. I try to watch the plays and comment accordingly. And, I try to engage with the people who do the same. There are some great ones. We have a good one here in @Lance Roffers. You can look at attributes, fine. But, also consider the football field (with pads).

I didn’t pick out Ivins or anyone in particular. I picked out a growing pattern to FAIL to look at prospects as players with roles wearing pads. Evaluators seem to pay more and more attention to 7 on 7s, shorts, and attributes over taking the time to watch the games. I think that’s nonsense. Whether they rank Miami guys highly or not.

People are already crying about tampering and I couldn’t care less. Is it illegal to contact an agent of a player who isn’t in the portal? Great move either way!

Hold on here, you are conflating high school recruiting rankings, where of course they are going to look at projections and traits and 7 on 7s because high school football competition is sporadic and games are not always a good judge of a player's ability.

Then there is transfer portal rankings, which I agree, are less accurate. I am sure that in-game performance and production are part of the rankings, but NFL projection is too. There isn't a growing pattern, that is just the methodology that they choose to use.

I do get where you are coming from, but even in-game production doesn't tell the whole story. We all wanted Noah Thomas last year because he was great with A&M. He was ranked highly and he was a dud for Georgia. Keelan Marion did next to nothing with BYU last year, but he was ranked highly because of his ability. Look how that turned out.

You and I would get just as many rankings wrong as these guys do.

I'm sure the agents are doing a whole lot of reaching out on behalf of their clients and then encouraging the players to enter the portal when they get big numbers in response
