FAU doesn't stand a chance unless Kaaya goes down. It's year 5 and we only have 1 real QB on this roster.
You know what Urban, Saban, Jimmy Johnson, Butch, etc. all have in common? They can ******* recruit! I understand coaching is important; however, I'm a believer that recruiting is by far the most important talent one must have in order to be successful in College Football. Golden has missed on too many elite players in South Florida. They don't believe in him. I think bringing in someone from the NFL, who can sell the program, would be great for the program.
OP negged for no mention of Butch Davis.
Refresh my memory; did Butch ever beat FSU?
Hire Butch Davis, and you don't have to fret about all of this.

Having the most fertile recruiting ground in the entire country is this program's greatest built-in advantage. Discussions about future coaches should never become debates about Xs and Os vs. recruiting. We need and should be able to get both, which is easy to lose sight of after the administration made three atrocious hires in a row.
Golden is unequivocally awful at both coaching and recruiting. He corched Miami to its third losing season in 35 years and predictably landed a class barely ranked inside the Top 30 in his fourth year on the job.
We don't have the coaching to compete for anything meaningful or beat anyone we're not supposed to beat (i.e. FSU, Clemson). We have more than enough talent to compete in the awful ACC, but nowhere near enough blue-chippers to be in the national title picture. Look no further than our OL, WR, LB, and DB situations right now. We're ultimately lacking in both. It's not an either-or discussion.
Saban coached at Michigan State, won a national title at LSU, coached the Dolphins before Alabama would hire him.
Harbaugh coached Stanford to a PAC 12 championship, coached the 49ers before Michigan hired him.
Why is it that Alabama and Michigan won't sniff these coaches until they've built up a strong track record, but at Miami we're supposed to be happy with some low-level coordinator?
Coaches have to be AVAILABLE.
Alabama had a lot of fail in between Gene Stallings and Nick Saban.
Michigan failed with Rich Rod and Brady Hoke. ****, Rich Rod almost took West Virginia to the national championship game, and was a disaster.
You act as if it's easy to know who's going to be successful.
You do what you can to stack the odds in your favor.
Al Golden proves that the MAC is a different animal from Miami. I don't want a MAC coach. Going 12-2 at Western Michigan proves nothing... see Larry Fedora.
All of our coaches that we have had success with in the past have either had NFL head coaching experience, or they were head coaches at NCAA schools who played top competition regularly.

Yes. Wide right you ******* cnut.
Fvck off.
After we fired Shannon, we wanted a guy with good communication skills who had experience building a program.
This guy gets it.Like Butch Davis said recently. Someone has to be able to recognize talent and coach the **** out of them.
That's what it takes at this level. We can't miss on multiple guys every cycle that end up being great, out of our backyard, and we never offer. Or vice versa, offer and get someone that ends up being completely over rated or just gets on campus and isn't coached the right way.
Don't know for sure what's going on at UM right now but it's some combination of evaluating players and coaching players. I don't think its one or the other.

Dynasty I believe that FG sailed wide left if memory serves. I do however agree with your assessment of the storm.

Answer this: if talent is the key, why did Miami go 6-7 last year when Miami had more talent than every team they played except for FSU?
Yes, Miami under Golden has missed on some recruits but there was still more than enough talent to win 10 games last year. The issue for Miami is not talent - the problem is terrible coaching.
