Advice for Manny

Interesting that a longtime journalist close to the program recently said in a podcast that he thinks Barry, Hickson, Stubblefield, and Stroud will not be back next year in part because they are ineffective recruiters and Rumph for a different reason he didn’t elaborate on. This makes sense that if Manny returns he has to remove the ineffective coaches and deflect blame elsewhere.

Who said that and what podcast?

OP makes good points but I'm afraid it is too late now. Those recommendations would have been great to follow at the start of the season.

Ferman in his weekly podcast recorded this week. Listen around 1:40 mark. He said it like he knew more but held back. Only time will tell if he was right but it’s interesting that someone with credentials will put that out there this early.

#5 is the one that stands out the most. For years we have seen guys come in and have a pretty **** good freshman year. We as fans get excited as it looks like will have a superstar for at least two more years. Only to see that player struggle with consistency and lack of development.

My advice.....rethink your entire staff and more importantly your approach to hiring coaches.
Hire coordinators and coaches that are better than you were.
Hire coordinators and coaches that challenge what you know and what you belive in.
If you cant handle them or your ego wont let you...you shouldn't be HC.
Dont hire your friends and yes men.
Look for and hire the most invovative OC that will run a fun system that will excite recruits (80's pro style is an automatic disqualifier)
Make sure you hire proven recruiters.
