That's a lot of words for you to say that you're just guessing something is true because you want it to confirm your hypothesis.
You will never. Ever. NEVER EVER get any evidence or proof from Canedouche08. Never.
He will tell you about how cheap the Miami fans are. And how the merch never sells.
And yet...in nearly every year since I first enrolled at UM in 1986...the crowds are HEAVY in the fall semester to buy the "latest gear", and there are rarely any huge clearance sales in the spring-summer months.
I've had season tickets (in one form or another) for nearly 40 years. Whenever I've gone to AllCanes and/or CanesWear on the September/October/November weekends, the sales are always brisk. Yes, the last couple of years have been more exciting, you can sense the positive feelings. But the merch sells...EVERY SINGLE YEAR...
Now, you'd have to sit down with Harry and a spreadsheet to measure the VOLUME of sales in certain years. I'm sure there was a bump in the early 2000s. And what people FAIL to gauge over the last few years is how much merch is being fulfilled via internet and phone-in orders.
The fact remains, as the school year winds down into summer, there is no panic of unsold merchandise that must be moved with huge markdowns. And to be honest, I would be happy to pay discounted prices to save some cash. But each spring/summer, I have to get lucky to find styles I like with enough leftover inventory in my sizes. I would conservatively guesstimate that about 75-80% of clearance items that I click on are only available in one or two sizes.
But...yeah...Miami fans are so cheap that our merch never sells, and we should be OH SO GRATEFUL that one company decided to overpay us with an overly-generous guaranteed payment that they will never recoup on our volume of sales....
When I read that sentence back again, it just makes me laugh and laugh, it's so ri-god****-diculous...
