ADIDAS overtakes Jordan as #2 in the USA...........

I'm a Kanye Stan (one of the best concerts you'll ever go to if you ever get the chance), but he in no way is responsible for ADIDAS' ascent to Number 2. The dude is somewhat of a joke actually these days (getting checked by Jay, and beefing with Taylor Swift (wtf)). Dude is stuck in the sunken place.

This has more to do with guys like Snoop and Khalid who've given ADIDAS a much needed shot of street credibility.

Nike mouth breathers lose their credibility when their argument is about "quality." If that were the case then UA would be the best choice and it's not even close.

People aren't lining up for Snoop and Khalids. Khalid is a freaking joke, and only hypebeasts care about his nonsense. People for whatever reason are lining up for Kanyes. What's funny is that Adidas has pivoted away from Kanye somewhat, and are hyping their boosts, which have become extremely popular. They are running shoes that look great in a casual setting. In a way, Kanye and his stuff got people to pay attention, and then Adidas showed off the other stuff they had, and people bought in.

No, their recent success is coincidencing with their addition of Kanye West to their roster.

Tweed I respect all your work on the crootin board, but you're out of your league here man. Sneakerheads know. Without Kanye adidas would be irrelevant now. They won big from Nike's huge mistake to not let Kanye do what he wanted. Put it this way, Kanye is bigger than their biggest athlete in James HArden. Adidas is raking not from actual athletic footwear, but from fashion wear. Adidas isn't respectable on a basketball court because they're shoes aren't good. The brand has grown with Kanyes growth with them. Now its at the point where its cool again, but its ironic that its cool not because of sports but because a rapper.

And everyone sees Adidas as a hero on here and the fact of the matter is they were a desperate brand looking for any school to hitch their wagon to. They had recently lost ND, Michigan, and Tennessee when they got us. Three massive schools. The just lost UCLA. They were hoping that we would be back quick and were willing to throw all the money at us because they needed us to save their football brand. Nike would have kept us for a similar amount IF we had taken care of the brand and maintained a competitive program. While we are on the way back, its not Nike's fault they weren't gonna pay what adidas did for us. We were not worth it at the time. These brands look for schools with success that are on the national spotlight often. It is no coincidence that a non Nike school has not made the playoff. Nike pays for quality. We will be the first non Nike school to do it, but had we taken care of our brand we would still be with them

As previously mentioned, take your "logic" to KanyeInsight.com, this board is for Miami fans.

It's not about the product. It's about the buzz and co-sign (translation: marketing). Khaled and Snoop got way more juice in the skreets than Kanye. Kanye is 5th AVE/ Hollywood (NOTHING wrong with that btw). But he's lacing up rich boys at Calabassas High. No one is checking for him like that. When ADIDAS is recruiting an athlete into their fold, they put Snoop and Khaled on the hype reel, not Kanye. The best selling shoe last year was the ADIDAS superstar which is about as far away from Ye as you can get.

The Superstar has been Adidas' best selling shoe **** near every year for the last 3 decades. Like Air Force 1s, they will sell well regardless. Just remember, it's those kids at Calabasas High that shoe companies want, the hood kids are a captive audience, they are already owned. Sneaker culture is made for middle and upper middle class kids with disposable income.

No...and we are going to keep talking about Kanya and continue stomping on your lawn, just to annoy your old @ss.

Snoop and Khalid? Lmao. Ummm, nope. Ask any industry person and they'll tell you Kanye is a big reason why adidas made the jump. Adidas followed that up with their UB line and their terrific collabs. Adidas has better collabs than Nike and its made adidas the "hotter" shoe.

The "street credibility" is nonsense. Adidas has taken over the millennial market, not the street market.

AUcane always took you for an old head with the way you spoke about some things but your sneaker knowledge on point. Impressed man. Anyone saying that Kanye isn't the reason shows they don't know a thing. Similar to saying Jordan Spieth and not Steph Curry took UA to a new level. Kanye has some of the most committed fans and they hype around his shoes literally jolted the adidas brand.

Hah, yeah I'm older (42) but love keeping up with sneaker trends and I'm a clothes horse. The adidas boost line collabs are where it's at. The way adidas manages limited supply and premium collab artists is real impressive. They've done a great job at building the premium aspect of these limited run shoes. And fwiw, I don't own a pair of adidas (yet). Lol
