Adarius Hayes Charged in Deadly Crash

I think 15yrs probably would be unlikely, but we’ll see. Some factors Id assume his lawyer would use in his defense are the kids reportedly weren’t buckled in. But who knows if that was misreported or not. If they are saying this was an 80mph side impact they could have still been ejected while buckled. But like his defense would say two deaths were caused by them not wearing seatbelts. And of course someone making a left turn doesn’t have right of way. That Plus the driver of the opposite vehicle being almost 80, and they’ll probably argue that that person made a big mistake regardless the speed Hayes was traveling. And of course I assume this is Hayes’ first felony (but apparently not first speeding ticket), and he wasn’t under the influence or anything. Didn’t try to flea…

But ultimately he’s an adult operating a deadly weapon and showed basically zero care for how he’d harm others, and his actions actually were very predictable they’d harm others….When you think about it why would that be any different than like going to a gun range and being careless with a gun that resulted in killing 3 people?

I don’t think he’ll get more than like 6 years in a plea deal. But he probably SHOULD get like minimum 25 years in an actual trial…
No. He should certainly get a few years (at least if the facts are as presented), but 25 is ridiculous.

95???

THIS IS ON MY EVERYDAY COMMUTE TO REGULAR STREETS IN SOUTH FLORIDA.

THESE KIDS DONT NEED AN NIL EITHER TO DO IT...THEY ARE DRIVING LIKE THIS IN BUCKETS, RENTALS, AND TURO APP CARS.
SEEN SOME KIDS LIKE 18 IN LAMBORGHINI SUVS JUST ZOOMING ON THE REGULAR.

And YEA HAYES is Cooked. He is gonna sit for a long time on this with all those deaths....i dont know if he has a good enough lawyer to deal with it his bond is high as ****.

He probably gonna get about 10 years at minimum
100%. Driving is craze in Florida but it's next level madness in South Florida. If I wasn't used to it, I would worried driving down here, especial on I95.
He'll be very lucky to only get 10 years. I don't see him getting less than 15, maybe getting parole after 10. I don't think there is going to be much leniency with the killing 2 kids.

my life changed 5 months ago when we had our first. I cannot fathom losing a children

I also couldn't fathom being the reason why 2 children were killed

sad story and clearly he wasn't thinking of consequences but he's gotta live with it. hopefully in jail he can find a meaning to better the world
And that bond only gets stronger with time.
As a father, I can't imagine and I don't let my mind go there.

I drove through North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and North Florida a couple of years ago on a road trip. I've never been as afraid for my life in a car as when I entered SoFl.

Genuinely absolute maniacs - and I routinely drive on the M6 (look it up).
It’s safer to drive 120mph on a German Autobahn than I-95 from the Martin County line south.

I drive from Tampa to PB County usually once a month. I-75 and I-4 don’t compare to the stupidity on I-95 now. And I-4 sucks because of congestion and tourists.

The bullet proof mentality of late teens and early 20’s.
Add in a 700hp vehicle. Recipe for disaster.
I see parents buying their teenage sons all sorts of crazy cars now. One kid that goes to my daughters school got a BMW M2 competition. Did not take long for the car to wrecked, kid is lucky he's alive or didn't kill someone.
Another had a GT and flipped it at a busy intersection. Some of these parents have more money than brains.

Yep. My wife was going to buy my daughter a Mustang Mach E. I said no ******* way.
She was a terrorist on the road with a BMW 3 series, not putting her in an electric car that goes 0-60 in 4 seconds.

This is a fair question. It doesn't absolve Hayes one bit, but the reason your kids should ALWAYS be buckled in is because you never know what kind of dipsh*t is out there driving like a maniac.
I don't think there is any evidence the kids were not buckled in. Nothing has been reported on that.
I agree though, I think you are absolutely reckless if as a parent you don't buckle your kids in. Nothing is going to save you when a truck hits you at 80, but in other scenarios it could be the difference between death and walking away.

For those that are innocent until proven guilty, the black box tells all.

As for the kids being thrown out of the car because they weren't buckled, no competent lawyer will go in front of a jury and say, "Well, it's really the parents fault for the kids being killed."

You would **** a jury off in that situation. Because what would the prosecutor say? "The defense wants to insult your intelligence and tell you that a big time football player deserves a pass because of his reckless behavior, so he blames the parents of the kids. May I remind you who caused the accident in the first place?"

Guy is gonna get a plea deal down to 3-5, probably out in 2 or so. Dead people are involved. There was that idiot truck driver that tried to do a illegal u-turn on the turnpike, he's probably looking at 3-5 years.
No way, not a chance he gets 3 to 5. This is Florida, not California and two kids lost their life. I would be shocked if he got under anything less than 10 to 15.

Where does it say the kids weren’t buckled in?
it doesn't. CIS just assuming bc the previous assumption was he wasnt going 80 mph and the car was making an illegal turn.

the car did not make an illegal turn. he was going nearly 80 mph and sped up and changed lanes right before the accident (crossed 3 lanes actually).

Why I hate driving the beltways around Baltimore and D.C. when go down that way to the airports, it’s crazy watching people, no blinkers, just driving in and out of lanes like nothing.
Driving the DMV is like South Florida but in concentric circles. It's ****.
