If it is Jurich I can’t imagine he would have a problem hiring any coach, regardless of character. At least at Louisville, Jurich‘s coaches achieved great success but were not exactly “high character” guys; Petrino and Pitino.

With that track record, I predict that our new football coach will be named Paterno...

IF Jim Frevola was really the runner up last time and IF this thread is based on anything credible then that combined with Mike Ryan's tweet last night would lead me to think it's him. Frevola being besties with Lebatard would probably be the only "scoop" Ryan could protect until Monday.

A Frevola hire combined with Zo as a football specific underling is the kind of "split the difference" move I could see the school making.

If they hire Tony Hernandez then shut down the program. A nice enough schlub in real life but that would be a beyond underwhelming G5 level type of hire and a guy that embarrassed himself when he actually was here last time.

The longer the rumor mill without confirmation the more board stressing back and forth between o My god and wtf …

So hire a guy who finished second to Blake James on the last go around. No thank you.

What do you mean? He hired Petini, Baseball coach Dan McDonnell who has made that program a national contender, successfully replaced John L. Smith. Only bad hire was the hire after Petrino left the first time but he got every other one right PLUS he’s a football guy.

Also hired Charlie Strong, who had a great run at UL, and successfully got Louisville into the ACC.
