No, there isn't a precedent, because it's stupid. If you hire an AD worth a ****, they don't need an AD for football, because they will want to oversee their profit center directly. Maybe, maybe you'll have an administrator that deals with the day to day stuff with the program, but even then, they are more a stooge for the AD, than someone with actual power.
