ACC officially refuses to admit mistake.

If I can take a screenshot off of youtube and zoom in and lighten it up and see it clear as day - then they should be able to as well or they don't need to be responsible for reviewing plays.

Stop encouraging referees to let the fumble playout because it can be overturned in the booth and forcing it to be indisputable.

It should always be best judgment and scrap the call on the field if it goes to the booth. 51% sure - go with it.

OK, then Mark Walton's knee was never down at Duke and they can withdraw the statement they issued.

If that was a tie game and that exact scenario happened except Walton lateraled it to a Duke player and he took it back for a TD and they won - they would have said it was a fumble because he didn't have control of the ball. That is the same logic applied to a lateral.

Only because it was Duke they put that out there.

"We look for the football in relationship to where he loses control prior to hitting the ground. You have to have a view of the football the entire time, and you have to watch the football and make sure it's in player possession until the time he's legally down.

"If you don't have that, you don't have indisputable evidence to overturn the ruling on the field. In this case, the ruling on the field is a fumble. So if we're going to overturn a fumble, we have to see the player in control of the football once he hits the ground."

I'm not sure how you can say the last sentence after viewing the high EZ cam. Seemed pretty indisputable along with sideline cam that elbow was down.... "Indisputable" must be an extremely extremely high standard..
Kind of a catch 22. They call a fumble so as not to kill the play for the sole purpose of being able to review it and then upon review they impose the highest possible standard. So you basically get screwed by the fact that that particular call is liberally made on purpose.

This is what happens when the game is on the garbage ACC network. Very poor camera coverage. If the game was on a major network like ABC they might have got the proper angle. They will always stick up for the officials. They want as few calls changed as possible. Its easy to say play stands as called.

If they came out and said it was messed up they would have opened the can of worms of changing game outcomes.

They don't want that. Too much administrative work for a conference that won't even be around in the long-term.

Man I kept saying that same ish when everyone was up in arms over his knee. Like the ball was clearly rotating and moving out of his hand. Whether it was a QB or whomever the ball was moving (albeit intentionally) it should be a fumble. Just like a RB switching hands with the ball, if his knee hit as he is switching hands its likely a fumble.

Now Rashawn Scott running onto the field to help usher Corn into the endzone from like the 20 yard line? Like ya ACC missed that one lol even Rashawn had an "oh ****" look when he got in the endzone lol

The only approach has and always will be the JJ approach.
Blow out everybody and it won’t matter if they penalize you on every drive.

In The 91 cotton bowl we had over 200 yards in penalties.
We won 46-3 without Jesse Armsead.

Can’t go to the wire with anybody or the flags will come out.
It’s happened too many times to not see it.

Nebraska was over before it even started.
