ACC has a problem

The ACC has always sucked at football. Long before Miami or even Florida State joined the conference, they were generally terrible. It's on Miami, FSU and even Virginia Tech to pick up the slack in football to make the conference respectable but it's been that way for a long time now. This isn't breaking news.

As for basketball, when you're getting four teams in the tournament during a really bad year, you're doing just fine. The conference consistently places 6,7 teams in the tournament and often has 4 or 5 teams ranked in the top 25.

What we should really be focused on is the fact that every other school is making staff changes while we just make figurehead hires and listen to our inept AD.
Miami replaced three on-field coaches this offseason. They hired two new support staff members. And if you want to call the GOAT, Ed Reed a "figurehead" go for it but I believe that players will listen and respect him more than any coach out there.

When was this? Since our 15-16 years of irrelevancy, you've had multiple SEC teams that have been contenders in LSU, UF (a short spurt with Urban), UGA, and Auburn. The SEC was seen as top heavy, but they're now the best conference in the country, unfortunately.

When was this? Last year. The year before. People saying the SEC east was the second worst div in the country next to the Coastal. The West didn’t have any challengers to bama unless LSU or Auburn had an up year.

Huh bro look at the thread you just made you included basketball and football lol
The guy before was talking about the p12 being worse than the ACC. And I was saying that the pac 12 had three ranked teams for football and the ACC had one

Miami and FSU were supposed to be the Elites of the ACC that would raise the level of football at other schools. Obviously, Miami has not lived up to that and FSU now joins them. If Miami can win 9-10+ games every year and dominate the ACC we should be able to pull top 10 recruiting classes every year. I dont think Miami needs to beg their way into the SEC but that may prove to be the right choice in the future.

The demise of the ACC is so overblown in everything.

College basketball as a whole is terrible this year. Before the season started, scouts projected neither Duke or Kentucky to have a lottery pick. How many times do you think that’s ever gonna happen again in the same year? Projections have probably changed by now with Richards and VCJ, I’m just making a point.

Miami at best, is a middle of the road ACC team. We got spoiled a couple of times, and now we’re dealing with Coach L in his old age not having it anymore and the aftermath of the FBI investigation that killed two recruiting classes.

Carolina hasn’t been this talent depleted since before Roy showed up on campus. Next year? 4 AA’s coming in. Back to normal.

NC State lost Leque or however you spell it to the draf bc he was old enough. 5 star kid.

UVA just won a title and lost everybody. It happens.

FSU is here to stay. Loaded and more talent on the way.

Louisville is competing for a title this year.

Shall I continue?

The ACC is at a bad place right now. The ACC is the worst power 5 confrence for football and basketball. As we know, Clemson is the only team good team for football. They are so far ahead of every team in the confrence. In basketball, the ACC is really struggling this season. Only four teams from the ACC are projected to make the tournament: FSU, Louisville, Duke and Virginia (three of those teams are ranked). The ACC should be getting into Miami's and FSU's grills and encouraging them to pick up the slack. Same with Cues, Pitt, Notre Dame and UNC for basketball. Those four schools are traditionally powerhouses for basketball.
In football its Clemson period. That is what is so troubling about Miami going 6-7 with a cream puff schedule. Play nobody and still cant do better than 4-4 in the coastal. Clemson was 5th in the first committee poll because the ACC is so weak. It does not look like anybody in the ACC will challenge Clemson anytime soon.

Pac 12 is worse. Big 12 is worse.

ACC may not be as good as we should be, top-to-bottom, but an ACC team has won 2 of the last 4 football championships and 3 of the last 7. Big 12 has had 1 winner since 2000 (Texas in 2005) and Pac 12 has had 1 winner (for 2 years) since 1991 (USC in 2003 and 2004).

ACC has won 4 of the last 7 basketball championships WITH FOUR DIFFERENT TEAMS. Last Big 12 winner was KU in 2008 (just ONE Big 12 winner since 1988, when KU also won it). Pac 12 last won it in 1997.

The ACC lags the SEC and Big 10, but we are definitely ahead of the Pac 12 and Big 12.

Miami is the worse basketball team in the ACC. Lol. You guys are a joke for basketball. You are never relevant. Duke, North Carolina, Louiville, Syracuse and Virginia are the only ACC teams that make runs in the tournament.

For basketball this is an enigma. UNC will never have a year like this again, it looks like FSU is here to stay as at least a tournament team year in and year out. Duke, Virginia, Lousiville will always be good. Miami, VT, ND, Syracuse NC State and Pitt need to pick it up. Those are the depth teams that need to be better. Especially Syracuse and ND, both of whom have been bad recently.

As for football it's all on Miami and FSU. If those two teams were good then the conference would be at least serviceable. Louisville looks like they're on the rise, and the coastal seems to be getting better(?)

I would add VT to the football list they're always suppose to be Miami's biggest threat in the coastal

This season, the ACC is the worst conference for basketball. The pac 12 and big 12 are better this season. Every heard of Baylor, Kansas, Texas tech, West Virginia, Colorado, Oregon, Arizona. They are all ranked in the top 25.
