I know the feeling, I feel same way about how people on here talk about fsu.."they respect them" "hope they do good and win games", "its better for rivalry" "hope they go undefeated til they play us"

I dont remember off top of head context, but I know Lamar is from Gainesville so I assume he "respected" that fsu played Miami every year when UF ran like some *******.. fsu probably lost a few titles getting that work from his era..

I still remember one opening weekend fsu playing lsu and in game thread you woulda thought ******** was in there doing the tomahawk chop they were rooting soo hard.. and fans rooting for them to be good, I like where they are last couple seasons, thats what they would wish on us.. but our fans want them to do well, smfh.. Mario owes them a couple 50 burgers..

That being said, regarding the article itself, when has the ACC ever taken disciplinary action against a member? Did FSU and Clemson even get a slap on the hand for suing them? It just seems to be the MO of the ACC to bend over and take it.
 
I recognize that here a lot of the posters are - well - pups.

The ACC adventure has been a relative disaster for UM - and very few here recall our days in the Big East.

SOME of us recall UM Football before we joined the Big East, and we were independent. Our first National Championship - we were independent.

We played almost anyone and everyone back then - it was fun as even when we got our butts waxed - we were not only scaring lots of large programs - we were learning the different types of football that other conferences preferred.

We learned. We saw everything - Big lumbering Nebraska, SEC football, all kinds.

It was like the Wild, Wild West.

Just my opinion, but I'd suggest conferences can become a bit too large. The chase for additional TV revenue via conferences - also has costs - as do most business transactions.

More and larger mergers rather than a small independent "schools" - gets a bit more boring.

In 1981, Clemson shocked everyone when they notched their National Championship by beating - Nebraska! What a season they had, started out unranked.

We were supposed to get our butts kicked when we played Nebraska and won our first championship in 1983. We were Giant Killers.

DIfferent regions, different type of football, different types of players, different speed.

Once again, our program is back among the Big Boys.

UM might not be Universally welcomed into whatever Conference tries to suck us in - for more revenue.

We keep rolling - we're going to be as welcome as lepers.

I wish we never gave up our independence in 91. Our next move will be our best since giving up independence, but as long as Miami is a NC contender, life is more pleasant no matter the conference.

I’d sorta respond to that by saying the FSU rivalry with us is just…Idk I guess it doesn’t really do anything for me because we haven’t met in a high stakes game in 25+ years unless you want to count 2013 but eh, okay maybe yeah one time. I’m sure older fans respect the rivalry more but us younger-ish fans under 40 don’t remember when that game meant something.

ND is way easier to hate. A lot of schools hate them. The entire SEC hates them and a lot of people hate the SEC. Their the definition of entitlement and I sorta don’t understand why they have such a large fanbase like the New York Yankees (okay maybe not that big) but I’m not quite sure why their brand is big as it is in 2026 considering they’ve been fairly mediocre for a long time. Their 2024 Natty run wasn’t nearly as impressive as ours. They lucked out by playing weaker programs and got dog walked in the actual title game.

Predictably the ACC didn't have the stones to do it.

The one time the ACC had all the leverage, they got no concessions from ND. This was business 101. Entry level **** and the ACC screwed it up.
