Yes but I’d argue the supporting cast (especially OL in cam’s case) was much more impactful than coaching him up

I would argue against that.

One of the reasons why Portal QBs are succeeding now is that the Portal can mimic what happens in a QB's NFL career. That is, you don't get to sit there for 5 or 10 years in only one system. You have to work with a variety of coaches who have different styles and who may develop different parts of a QB's ****nal.

Thus, a QB who can master one or more college system/OC is well-prepared for the NFL. I'm not saying that Dawson rewired Ward's arm the way that a pro golfer may change swings more than once in a career, I'm just saying that Ward benefits from working with a different OC who can give a different perspective or work on different skills.

How did I miss on Bailey?

How funny! That is my top 3 list of transfers targets:

Sorsby, Leavitt and Bailey. All 3 are mobile QBs.

The Old Dominion QB, Colton Joseph, is good as well, but unlike the other 3, he hasn’t done it at the P4 level, so that always worries me.

Mensah did great this year coming from the G5 level but where Miami is in terms of playoffs, give me the P4 guy with success.

Yah I’ve been saying Sorsby is the #1 transfer prize since week 5. His “bad” games were good for Miami because it increased chances he would drop in draft and want to come back for another chance to increase his draft stock. I think he’s Cam Ward 2.0 at Miami, but does more damage with his legs. If Beck was worth 4 mil, Sorsby is worth 5-6. Bonus is Sorsby almost never turns the ball over, which is the key for a Cristobal offense that is more NFL than college. I think Miami goes undefeated and wins a title with him at QB.

ideal scenario is Sorsby is QB1 but Miami makes a concerted effort to get Nickel or Coleman more playing time. Need to see if either of them is capable of being the QB in 2027. If either (or both) show they are capable , then we don’t need another transfer QB for at least 2 years, making Sorsby at 5-6 million a bargain.

Going to be honest, I’m really down on Lagway. I’d take raiola over Lagway

The **** we didn’t. The first 3 INTs did not do us any damage. The defense gave up 2 FGs outside of the opening 2 drives. The problem was our predictable, beatable offense.

The playcalling didn’t help I’ll give you that but you can’t turn the ball over 4 times and EXPECT to win a football game at this level, if Beck just simply makes the right reads that game we win sumn like 35-24, for some reason he kept chasing the big play that game even though it wasn’t there, there was a TE WIDE open when he tried to force the ball to Mali in triple coverage, if he just simply makes the right throw it’s still a big play and the drive keeps going. So yes while the defense kept us in it n held them to 0 point off the picks every time you turnover the ball over you leave potential points on the board. It’s literally the QBs #1 job to protect the ball no matter the play call.

If sorsby is smart, he will enter the draft. This is the weakest qb draft in years.

I could see this.. but NIL makes it less of a gamble. Not sure where he's projected currently but Cam & Carson improved their draft status by a lot while collecting millions/having fun at college.

He was a game manager; not elite. Far too many people are making claims like you did and it’s nothing more than playing the result.
