A note on high school QBs...

@DMoney How do the Canes--or any team really--keep the QBs on the roster while also looking to see whether there is a transfer portal QB that fits? In other words, how do they keep Nickel happy while looking around this offseason?
Where is he going to go??? He has no film and every other major program is looking for a proven QB just like Miami. No major program is promising a kid who is not a sure fire 5 star a starting job, so he would more than likely be in a similar situation but at a less quality program. His best option is to wait his turn or find himself bouncing around his whole career.

You won't have to overpay, EVERY year. The thought here is that you can get a couple of good years off a guy at a decent rate.

Not have to overpay to land one of the few good arms that gives you a chance kind of deal. Everyone is wanting that and its an expensive game of roulette to play on a yearly basis.
Can you list a couple QBs who fit this description? Ty Simpson was “home grown” so to speak, but there’s no way you’re convincing me he came in the cheap. Gunnar Stockton? I don’t see him not getting paid too.
