I’ve posted multiple times thats where he should be . From his size , frame and speed. He lacked fluidity wnd acceleration to be a Lb.

Speaking of mccloud he’ll be part of a biography on three current players. Zion is another and maybe LT is the third but i can’t remember lol.

Lastly keep an eye on Elijah Robert’s , he’s a guy to watch making a jump. He’s expected to get a lot of pt.

Thanks for the info, Cribby. Regarding Elijah, is he at DT or DE? I've always been curious as to how the staff plans to utilize him considering that he's larger than most DEs we've had yet smaller than our DTs.

I guarantee those scouts were not at practice for McCloud. Y’all really want him to start at DE against Bama?? lol we are better off letting Thomas Davis start if that’s what we have to settle for. McCloud should be 4th on the depth chart at best.
 
Dam to go from majornine, jackson, GR15 and Phillips to freaking journeyman McCloud.. Yikes.. I knew he moved to DE but was hoping he would be buried behind the younger talent.. This is like Shayon green type level talent again.. Wishful thinking to even waste time of him being a quality starter.. hope this is a start of camp where the good guy coach types get love and then get ushered to their role of bench hype man.. if not, we really ****ed up DE recruiting..

I get where you're coming from but McCloud playing due to us developing & sending other talent at that position to the league isn't really a fault by our staff

Perhaps this is a moment of reflection for the 15-0 movement, a time to look inward and say “people can love the team the way we do but have differing opinions- some of which do not always reflect the bright shining light we ourselves see”???

I get it but it’s a message board man, people are going to comment on it as much as they like.

That’s kind of the issue though. He has been a DE for what, 9 months? If he is already surpassing a guy that we all had high hopes for going into year 3 (Harvey), then that is an issue.

When the McCloud move was first announced, 95% of the people on this board said its just a depth move and he wouldn’t see big time minutes. Now it’s “well no one knows that he can’t play DE!!!”. This isn’t a shot at you, but it’s an issue to me if a 6 year under achiever who has been at DE for less than a year is surpassing our young talent who have been at the position for years. JMO.

I agree that there’s potentially an issue with some of the DL recruiting but he may legit be decent at that position. Cribby’s been saying for a long while that Zach’s been playing out of position at LB and should be playing DE.

If you have enough alcohol go back and rewatch UNC/OK ST. He didn't make any plays but he surely looked lost. Albeit he was new to the position he certainly didn't look like the future solution.

Well to be fair he was 230 playing de with very few reps there in five years. He’s now 255 - 260 with an entire off season to prepare. We’ll see.

Hopefully he’s preparing diligently because as cway pointed out, his size had nothing to do with how lost he was against UNC and Ok St.
