We’re harkening back to game 1 of 2024 for a comparison. He caught 2 balls from October forward.
That may be the case but i am a little surprised by the lack of attempts or plays to him. This is my concern with Dawson’s offense, it never really prioritized the TE, even in Houston. As far as catching and running, he sure doesn't look as sudden as he did on his catch against UF last year (just to use an example everybody saw).
He is hurt. That's not my speculation. How much is it impacting him? I don't know.
I could see it with Arroyo because he was a legit threat. But Lofton can’t make dudes on Bethune miss. Why are we drawing plays up for him? That may be the case but i am a little surprised by the lack of attempts or plays to him. If you’re a slot WR, you’re definitely going to cook.
I tend to agree, but wouldn’t BCC week have been a good time to rest up…especially with USF and UF on the horizon?I'm starting to lean toward there's something physically wrong with him as well. Just go back and look at the explosiveness he displayed on that long catch and run late in the game vs Florida last year and compare that to the ball he caught in the red zone vs BCC where he couldn't even get into the end zone. He should have walked in on that play. There's probably something he's gutting his way through.
This would explain the half effort on some of those blocks vs #27. If your trying to block a dude at LB with a messed up shoulder that's asking a lot. Hopefully we can get some of the other TE on the squad to step up and take up the slack so #9 can heal upduring ND, he came off the field various expressing pain in his left shoulder. he has a brace on the shoulder
The question then is, why is he even playing? What is he providing to the team that someone else can't?As far as catching and running, he sure doesn't look as sudden as he did on his catch against UF last year (just to use an example everybody saw).

If he was actually hurt and not Dennis Smiff claims he's hurt-hurt, he would've sat out with the rest of the dudes who didn't play vs a bad BCU team. He contributed 2 good blocks, 4 bad ones, and 1 catch where he fell down? The question then is, why is he even playing? What is he providing to the team that someone else can't?
He's not Arroyo type receiving threat and his main job is blocking so why is he trying to hurt himself even more?
His main job isn’t blocking. He was thought to be a receiving TE that can move aroundThe question then is, why is he even playing? What is he providing to the team that someone else can't?

Lol y'all see Schott play like 7 snaps against Bethune and he should be starter already. Tell me is Schott going to be a better blocker? Was Gilberts dropped pass that impressive? Beaumans game against ND was bad too lol.At what point does the ineffectiveness caused by the injury force him to the sidelines because it’s better for the team as a whole? Playing through injuries and showing grit is awesome….til you’re a detriment to the team. Are we there yet?
I suggested sitting him on the show before. But a lot goes into these decisions, and we don't know most of the relevant information. The question then is, why is he even playing? What is he providing to the team that someone else can't?

Agree to disagree. He hasn't moved around much (has he even been in the backfield?) and has been targeted minimally. His main job isn’t blocking. He was thought to be a receiving TE that can move around
Appreciate the response and the insight. I'm just struggling to grasp the reason for him being out there as he hasn't been able to be the statement player he's been hyped up to be (probably because he's fighting through injury).I suggested sitting him on the show before. I can confirm through multiple different sources (and having eyeballs) that he is playing through injury. My guess is they view him as a key guy going forward and they're doing everything they can do get him going. I know he gets a ton of treatment throughout the week.
This reads like its something chronic?I suggested sitting him on the show before. But a lot goes into these decisions, and we don't know most of the relevant information.

I didn't see Schott play at all, nor Gilbert. I was traveling during the game. I didn't mention Schott or Gilbert in my coment. I asked about Lofton and the impact his injury is having on the team. You also conveniently forgot to mention Bauman, who I believe does block pretty well. Replies like this - that are nothing more than complete assumptions spread out in an attempt to discredit - are so common and dumb across the internet. I can take differences of opinion and I'm not afraid to admit where I am/was wrong. I'll even apologize in those cases. Your reply is drivel. Do better.
