This class is a disaster

I wouldn't say that just yet, because Dexter could pick ND, Norton could pick AU, and Redwine could stay with Lville, then i think it is a Disaster lol

I would...and it doesn't matter what Dexter or Norton do. It's an absolute disaster. We're going into their FIFTH FULL YEAR.

Trying to spin this in any positive light is simply putting your Don Bailey Jr hat on and going to work.

Lol @ Calloway...he can play the Dorsett role Miami breeds WRs for NFL, and you have one of the best young QBs in the country throwing you passes. Miami has recruited him the hardest, corch McLedoodles ignored him since he got the job, but one visit now UF leads?

Terrible choice is so.

Actually, that's a big LOL at UM, and particularly, Golden.

@mattyports: Miami could still add several helpful pieces to this class, which is not loaded with star power but fills a lot of needs.

You know what every program that wants to compete for anything meaningful really needs? Star power. Not coal shovelers. This class sets us back even further, if that's even possible at this point.

And it's not like we're filling a lot of needs anyways, so it's a completely ridiculous line of thinking. QB, LB, and CB depth aren't being helped whatsoever in this class. We'll likely add only 1 WR. But we're bringing in about a half-dozen OL -- a few of whom shouldn't even be in any Miami class -- so that'll solve everything.

LULZ at starving UM fans getting jazzed up over the OP throwing us some stale Saltine crumbs.

To summarize, this is what you're getting excited over: possibly holding onto an OL commit; looking decent for a Plan W CB; losing the most polished WR in South Florida; and having a chance with a RB who was already committed earlier.

Yikes.

In their defense, ain't much else to get excited about. But, you're right!

Who says you have to be excited? Only babies need to be chuckling all the time.

Guys need to quit searching for fake reasons to be excited and learn to face the cold gut punch of reality.

I get where you are trying to go with this but at the end of the day, why even follow the team with this logic? lol. Why even come to this site? Why have 12k posts?

We can hate Al Golden but still love the team. I am not happy at all either, but ****, at this point in the game..whats done is done..You can boycott, fly banners, and send him pizzas all you want but come Sept I will still root for the team. Just from my home and not from the stadium.

I hate the BOTs and the administration as much as anyone, but I am sure if next season goes down the drain that Al is gone because of the whole buyout being less BS. So at least we might have that to look forward too. But we need to keep the cupboard full for the next coach or we will be waiting another 4 years to be relevant. JMO.

Golden's a total bum. That's known. Let's call that a constant and push it aside. But holy chit @ Ice going 1-2 with 3 BTW kids we desperately wanted. Hard to see what value we're getting there if that's the outcome in a year we really need to land BTW kids. D'onofrio could've gone 1-2 as the lead recruiter with those 3.

He's a grown man named Ice for starters.

Do you even know how Tim "Ice" Harris got that nick name. It was given him by others because he is calm under pressure and always stays focused. Coaches used to say that Tim Harris is Ice cold an the name stuck out of admiration from his south Florida peers.

So don't knock the man, because without him Golden and company wouldn't have even had the chance to even talk to half the kids that Miami ended not getting because the Golden's philosophies.

Go Canes

We need Callaway and the speed he brings to the game. Just look what Dorsett did last year and Kaaya may have gotten him to the NFL round 2. Florida has significant issues including QB so hopefully that will diminish Callaway's interest there because here he can start.

If Tim "Ice" Harris can't sell him on Miami it says something about his recruiting. By the way Treon Harris is likely to shift positions at Florida, the new coaches aren't sold on him at QB.

This i agree with we need playmakers not bodies

Mich St, TCU, and Baylor are all filled with coal shovelers and they were in the Top 5 at some point this year! So don't knock the coal shovelers when they are properly coached.

If NONE of the recent coaches at any position have been successful (outside of Fisch who only lasted 2 seasons in the NFL), maybe it's not the coaches as much as people want to make it out that way?

We haven't had successful coaches go on to anything meaningful in a long time. It also coincides with the move to the ACC and Donna. Either we are hiring the wrong ones, we are handicapping them, or both.

The 2016 class is #Swag16. Maybe this class can be #Jag15?

Coal shovel/lunch bucket type of players with potential are just fine IF you have the staff in place to develop them...

I'll let everyone decide for themselves if we have that or not.

As sad as it is to have to accept I am almost approaching it that way. There's no way Golden is going to land anything else exciting or filled with "swag". So I'm going to hope that we land some quality kids that ultimately will be "depth" guys AFTER Golden is gone. I really don't know how else to approach this signing day without feeling miserable.

Man, the "Let's Insult Their Intelligence Game" doesn't get old for them does it? This is absurd.

Williams coach said that he believe Dex is telling ND and Miami coaches the same thing. Therefore Petes miami sources are probably hearing the same thing as ND sources. Therefore noone has a clue what dex is doing or where he's "trending".

Yup. Both Golden and the UM media shills will be partaking in that game tomorrow doing this:

We're screwed but it isn't because of the incoming class. Golden's philosophy would lose with stars, it would lose with coal shovelers. We just went 6-7 with a team full of NFL draft picks. The whole philosophy is about minimizing risk. Playing safe. So you can turn a team with 11-win talent into a team that can lose 7 games if things don't go as planned in games.

This style creates no margin of error. One fumble here, a busted play there and now this "perfect plan" to win the game has been ruined by "freelancing"

I'll take Token Cane's word over anything Pete might be hearing as far as the RB position is concerned.. Token said an ND coach believes Williams is going to Miami. That was yesterday.
