8 Mil a Year for 64–62

only at Miami would you give 10 for 8 mil a year for a dude just over .500.

A dude that has never coached as a HC in a national title game.. 8 F’n million for 10.

A dude that has absolutely no idea how to manage a clock.

A dude that prefers a pro style offense.. that pros doesn’t even run anymore.

We’re cursed.
MSU says hello. But I get your point.

Miami fans have never had a high paying coach and staff, so they just assumed when we spent that money that the new staff could sprinkle magic pixie dust over the program and Bam 8 months later we have a 10-2 team.

Honestly I'm more irritated with how the OL and defense played than anything.

We were 1 dimensional because we couldn't run the football.

Defense was atrocious, can't give up that kind of explosives, can't believe Steele didn't mix in more zone.

Wow...that didn't take long for the fanbase to give up on the coach 4 games in a rebuild....because we all knew we had a national championship roster already....

No doubt the PAC is ***, with that being said he took advantage of it and did what he needed to do.
I give absolutely no Fs what he did prior to UM....Completely meaningless. All I care about is, what's he going to do in the Gables. His *** makes 8 million a yr. That's twice as much as any coach in UM History. He had 9 months to ATLEAST prepare this team better than what I've seen. Nobody (in the right frame of mind) expected 10-11 Wins....but to not Win atleast 8 is disgusting.

I agree with that. We were talking about that so I pointed that out. That’s all. He took advantage of his situation at Oregon and won there given the circumstances. This team needs to look better than it does given the coaching staff. It’s unacceptable and falls squarely on the dude making 8mil.

He’s turned Ole Miss and FAU around his last 2 stops in a year and 2 years to 10 win teams. He doesn’t do it with recruiting or bringing in “his guys” he does it by putting the players he has inherited into positions where they could succeed. But we wouldn’t know what any of that would look like in the last 20+ years.
the FAU turn around was FAR more impressive. he took over right around when butch took over FIU in the same conf. he just ran that **** from day 1.

They were both pretty impressive but that FAU turnaround was very impressive, that team at the end of his first year was a top 25 team in the country.

he didnt come up w excuses as to why he can't win in year 1 in a soft conference. ****, this is a dude that got fired on a tarmac. he coordinated sabans transition offense and led the way for the next OCs he hired there. hes a great x and o mind. he ***** on everyone on the staff in terms of actual football coaching not fun speeches

64-62 is a BS argument.. his time at FIU was a success by most standards compared to where they were before he got there.

FIU had 5 wins in 5 seasons before Mario got there. He lead FIU to a 7 and an 8 win season.

Why was he fired.

AD and him butted heads. Garcia (AD at the time) didn’t like the fact that Cristobal was getting all the credit for bringing success to a once trash program (he won a school-record 8 games the year before he was fired, seven before that). Cristobal wanted more commitment to facilities and the program in return for winning more games.

In fact I remember hearing that Garcia was actively trying to push Mario away to Rutgers after he went 8-5 and his name was swirling out there.

After going 3-9 the following season, Garcia swiftly took his chance to fire him and seize control.

With that being said, they were picked to finish at the top of the conference and absolutely disappointed. But the hatred between Coach and AD was set in stone before that.

That's Pete in a Nutshell...
