What do you hope will happen by spending all season worrying about the defense?

It has nothing to do with what I hope will happen. I’m here to discuss football on message board like everybody else. What do you hope will happen by ignoring or not talking about how bad the defense played tonight?

We are so afraid of giving up the big plays so we play a soft zone that allows teams to methodically kill us. UNC was 10/13 on 3rd and 4th down tonight.

Avg yards to gain was like 4 yards too

Yes QB was getting it out fast but you can’t let him just carve you up on quick passes either…

You gotta jam, reroute and get the WR’s off schedule and we did absolutely none of that tonight…

Like I said, if you can force the defense to behave exactly like you want them by formation or motion, then you’re going to carve them up.

lol then why waste your time having a conversation/posting on a message board period. The whole point is to have dialogue on the good and the bad. It’s a simultaneous hype arena and venting station. The best offense in college football in 2024 wasn’t championship level??? I’m going to lean towards the defense letting the team down nearly every game. You literally can’t win a championship without a half decent defense….

This is an insane conversation.

Marino had the best offense in the NFL about 40% of his career. No ring.

I know. Winning is hard. But this guy is a borderline make a wish kid playing QB and he carved us. I hate how easy it is to move the football on us. But we made more plays when it mattered. NFL type game

We scored every time we had the ball but once. And only had 38 points. We should have 50 to 60.

This defense limits the ability of our offense to be championship because it isn’t stopping teams while also allowing them to bleed the clock with these death march possessions. Which limits how much of an impact Mensah and Toney can have on the game.

We need to adopt a boom-bust defensive approach. If you score on us, fine. But you do it in 2 minutes rather than 8 minutes.

First time all year we lost the possession battle, only by one minute but they had the ball for 30 minutes. I don’t know the last time that has happened to us, our formula is to win that battle so if teams can replicate that we are in big trouble
