I’m going from memory, but I’d agree that #9 over #4 would probably rank higher than #10 over #6. They started off ranked higher than us, and beat a higher ranked team than we did. I thought the Canes would jump to 5, with Texas and a team with a cupcake win dropping below us. But I totally get why LSU is ahead of us this week, I just don’t agree that TX and Oregon should be. So I guess I’m agreeing with you. If they jumped 5, why didn’t we?

Yeah, but that one-loss team has a generational talent, go ahead and give him the Heisman, #1 overall draft pick lock at QB, though. So it kinda makes sense.

It's certainly not a given but it's possible 5 of our first 8 games are against ranked opponents.

ND, UF, and FSU.
UF losing to LSU would probably bump them down a bit but they'll likely still be a top 20 team if they win their others.
FSU has a bunch of easy matchups. If they win out then they'll be a top 20 team for sure.

Oct 17 against Louisville - Louisville has JMU, Bowling Green, Pitt, and UVA before they come to Hard Rock. I'd bet they end up in the top 20.

Nov 1 against SMU - SMU has Baylor, Missouri State, TCU, Syracuse, Stanford, Clemson, Wake Forest before we head to Dallas. Even if they lose against Clemson, they'll still be ranked if they can win the rest.

I'm fine with where we are man. Preseason they had Texas #1. Its not like they lost to Rice at home. We make it through the next 4 games and we good man. Can't worry about polls.
