I would be surprised if Miami went the package deal route to get a recruit, no matter how talented the kid. If the "package kid" isn't up to snuff I'd be surprised if we took him. Even if it cost us a shot at the elite prospect. Also factor in that we may still end up with scholie reductions, in that case we can't waste any of 'em.

Miami has offered both so maybe your staff thinks Landry is Miami good. How many DE/OLB is Miami taking this year?
 
Not a lot of discussion about numbers on that front. The early focus has been RB (3), QB (2), WR (3), DT (at least 3) and Oline (5) which is almost full. There's been a few threads posted with our scholarship charts.

I would expect 2-3 DEs and 2-3 OLBs but, I don't know for sure.
 
Wow, kid is an absolute beast. Mean as **** too. 5* no question. If we can pull him and Clark, Christ! We might be back 4real

All his coach kept saying on tos was that these two kids are canes fans. I hope they really are because I do think we need both. To be honest they both look really athletic

Thr only reason they now know of him is our rival coach has a kid that they're interested in and he had to tell them about our guy... smh... just hard to believe that they ignored everything while staffs like alabama, florida, georgia south carolina clemson etc etc immediately responded with offers

With that said, Miami has the chance to be the first to offer both at the same time. I've always felt that whoever did that, would ultimately get the two because they really want to play together. The offers they have in common are Clemson, NC State and South Carolina, but Landry feels as if those schools weren't truly interested in he and only decided to offer to attempt to gain ground with Lamont. If Miami comes in and shows genuine interest in both and offer both after seeing them, they'll immediately shoot to the top, just because of how they think.

why is it Jethro's job? just b/c he is the Dline coach? from what i understand they recruit by region, not strictly by position coach (but im sure the position coach will also help recruit) sounds like it would fall on the recruiting coordinator to locate out of state recruits

Every DL we recruit mentions Jethro. They just don't sign lol Most kids we recruit mentions the position coach by name. They usually go in by region and pass the kid along to the position coach.

The coach who focuses on the regions are usually the main recruiters but the position coach is also going to be a factor too

They did... but if ur expecting some miracle verbal, kinda outlandish...

Fact is u can read my posts, the kids soured on them, have spent the last 2 months being courted by the nations tops...

Miami enters the picture late, instantly top 3 for both while a certain school is eliminated... should speak on how interested they are, but ground has to be made up for sure

Lol at the guys on certain boards calling me a troll lol...I'm just a big canes fan yhat happens to coach two kids who had legit interest in the U (then they met Richt, Venebales and some others tgat have really won over their interests, can u blame them?)but I will have to stop posting in order to protect the integrity of the recruiting process for our kids. Check the history, I NEVER ANTICIPATED THEM TO GET THIS BIG...

I've seen this before. Why do you think recruiting gurus know what they're doing? Why do you think there should be agreement on something that is so subjective?

Please read the freaking thread before asking redundant questions that have already answered. Here's a question; did KC McDermott give his verbal yet? Sorry, but my patience is REALLY thin right now.
 
Its time to get the ball rolling for the defensive side. We need elite players now. 3-4 DTs and 2DEs. Lammons and 2 other corners. 3 linebackers. And 2 stud safetys. Lets go.
 
The coach said Landry is getting looked at by Miami for baseball too, anyone know if he has a scholarship for baseball?
