2027 5* RB Kemon Spell

I said Jim Brown as one of the names mentioned for two through five. The real problem at least for me with dudes from that era is the same as when you mention Wilt Chamberlain for basketball in that era. You just have to be honest with yourself that there was certain dudes that stood out because nobody was on their level athletically or physically. Look at the dudes that played around him and what their physical profiles were. I'm sorry but for me that disqualifies him. If Barry played in that era, I myself wouldn't know how amazing the dude really was. Because the majority of the league was Al Bundy and his boys from Polk high. At least if you were the late 80s the '90s the 00s etc you knew you were surrounded by dudes that stood out as well.

Fun fact- Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy) was an excellent DE at Youngstown State and tried out for the Steelers; they already had Mean Joe Greene and LC Greenwood at DE as rookies so he couldn't make the team (they wanted him at LB but he didn't know the position). Chuck Noll wanted to trade him to the Eagles where he probably makes their roster as a DE, but he decided he to follow his dream to be an actor. I agree with your sentiment- an era where a RB went against a bunch of actual Al Bundys week after week is tough to compare to the eras where nearly every player on the field was an elite athlete.

Apologies, thanks for the clarification. I apparently didn’t read your post well enough, but I appreciate the response.
No reason for apologies brother. Context in texts gets lost. Realize my response came across like I took it some kind of way. Not at all. I often only respond to one random comment without knowing the rest of a conversation and what took it to that point. Don't have the patience or the time for all the reading. So was just clarifying my stance on Earl that he was in that to tier also with Jim just no one is Barry.

I DEFINITELY did not know that. It's actually hysterical to me now to know it literally proves the point.

Johnnie Morton doing the "Travolta in the living room" meme while reading this.
I let his name come up once without saying anything. Guess I'll give my two cents. Being honest Brett had his moments with them that were pretty good. He also disappeared for quite a few years too once the injuries and lack of talent around him caught up. That was the same issue Johnnie had as well. He had his moments. Even several years when he was pretty good. Than the injuries and the lack of talent around him caught up as well. Other than on special teams he was phased out of the game. I'll give y'all lomas brown. I had just forgot about him. But he was a dog on the line. Herman Moore was a beast though. He was always a constant with Barry. That's all they had
Bennie Blades

I think LT and barry were the best rbs I've seen in my lifetime. Lt could do everything. He was a red zone monster. He perfect the pileup hurdle. He could block lineup in the slot or outside run between the tackle and in zone in the open field he was elusive. He also could lineup as a wildcat QB. I don't think his 31td in a season will ever be topped.
If they keep increasing the number of games it will be, although point is fair.

I disagree Big Dawg. The rbs are not featured like
During that time. It's a passing league now. The days of done. I'm not sure we will see a guy challenge for the receiving record in the NFL. Most teams have two good receivers and to be honest a lot of these QBs are hurt often also. Cinny QB kc QB buffalo QB Dallas QB so on and so on. Also the talent level at QB isn't what it was during the 2000s and 2010 imo.

Sure. Whats to say it won’t swing back to ground and pound (pause) in another 10-20 years? The game is always evolving. Maybe someone like Saquon goes nuts one year. If he has two more games than LT, there’s a 12.5% increase in opportunities. I’m not disputing what you’re saying about it being a passing league.

Talking style alone, who’s the closest to Barry you’ve seen in a high level pro?

I was just saying the guy was a great back when he was in his prime….he could run through the line into the secondary like a knife through butter….nobody could ever get a glove on him before he was gone

That's a **** of a question with a virtually impossible answer. So the two things combined didn't generally result in success & sustained health. To have his style and stay healthy long enough to be high level wasn't easy. I guess closest I can think of would be warrick with how shifty he was. A version of a style fit would be LT and Marshall. But they were far more one cut and attack type dudes generally speaking. Barry was reliant on his shiftiness. Only one I can think of off the top of my head would be warrick.

Yeah. It's a VERY slim argument in my eyes. Barry is #1 only one I think could've potentially made that interesting in different circumstances was Bo. That would've required Bo sticking to football and ever having been healthy. Reality being what it is well never know. ****erson, Brown,Faulk,Campbell,Walker,Dorsett etc they were all MONSTERS. But BARRY, he was that dude.

would've loved to see what pre-injury Frank would have looked like in the NFL.

I thought he was a RB. Didn't he score five touchdowns in a game once?

Even pre injury to most eyes,(pre injury um)already had two major knee surgeries. All that being said I firmly believe if Frank didn't have more serious injuries from us on he would be HIGH up there in that best ever conversation. Not necessarily Barry even though Frank is my brother and I got glasses on. But he'd definitely be in that top 5 convo. That boy was SPECIAL

Man a lot of guys had that elusiveness. Only tomlinson and faulk were as elusive to me. You had a lot of great back edge portis ap Shaun alexander priest holmes jammal charles jammal lewis Chris Johnson shady mccoy. But tomlinson and faulk were the most elusive to me.
