#5 in AP POLL

This is almost exactly what I expected.

Texas lost a very close game at the Shoe, to the #3 team. You can argue that Texas was the better team that day, the game was similar in comparable talent to ours vs ND. How far do you drop them because of that game? One spot behind us is the only thing that makes sense, IMO, but I have no issue with them being one ahead of us.

LSU went on the road and won a close game as well, against a top 5 team. Again, that game could have gone either way, but in this case the road team won. Would I have them at 4? No, but I would have them ahead of us.

Oregon and UGA are the two that you could *maybe* say should’ve held serve or dropped, purely because they got rewarded for playing inflated bags of farts in helmets. Oregon could’ve stayed at 7, and Miami/Texas slot in ahead of them. That’s the one qualm I have.

UF will beat USF this week. USF will not be ranked anytime soon. LSU is going to whoop UF before we play them. To me, LSU easily looked like the best team in week 1. Those portal additions were hits. Their D looks nasty. FSU will probably be undefeated when we play them.

I hate preseason rankings. Based solely on week 1, the only teams with wins as good as Miami, are OSU and LSU. Those should be the top 3.

Now if by week 4, PSU has beaten a top 6 team, move them into the top 5. Same with UGA Until then, they have done nothing to warrant their rankings.

Exactly. That’s what I said in another thread. After watching all the games, top 3 no less than 5.

Agreed with the above. LSU is going to mollywhop the Gator. ESPN probably assumes this and assumes that they will come down here and get the Belt to A$$ by us here at the Rock, too.

I'm counting on that.

Gameday will be at the Doak. Both FSU and Miami will be undefeated going into that game, assuming both teams stay healthy and the Noles move into the Top 10. This will be a Howard vs. Bobby Showdown Game. ESPN and ABC won't be able to resist that narrative. It will be like Old Times.

7:30 Prime Time Kick. National Broadcast, probably ABC. By that time, FSU should be ranked 8th, we will probably be at 5 or up to 4.
