Yep. Only person on Earth who didn't think a TO should be called there was Shanahan.
I missed the GM. But everybody in the room was saying the same exact thing: “why doesn’t this idiot call a timeout?”

Better than tea and finger sandwiches....Nothing was going to stand between Andy Reid and a fast food buffet at the white house.
Exactly. You can’t sit in a 10 pt lead with 15 and those weapons with 8 minutes left in a game. Ask Tennessee. San Fran continued to run their offense. Which is run on first down, mix in PAs on 2nd down and get into comfortable 3rd downs. That D ran out of gas.
1st quarter KC had 2 possessions
2nd quarter KC had 2 possessions
3rd quarter KC had 2 possessions
4th quarter KC had 4 possessions scored on 3
49ers had to limit KC possessions. They did that until the end
I didn’t see that. Did that really happen?
QB and HC played scared.

both played not to lose.then panicked when behind late in the game.
Yes, they zoomed in on John Lynch and you could see him hand gesturing for a timeout.
I must’ve been looking away at that moment, but it doesn’t surprise me. John Lynch was a pretty smart player in his day, of course he was calling for a time out
i saw this happen two other times this playoffs with other teams, even at the end of the game. why do teams want to save timeouts when time is so precious? running out the clock was just dumb in that situation.Yep. Only person on Earth who didn't think a TO should be called there was Shanahan.
I don’t understand how these coaches change their offensive philosophies to play it safe and expect the game to continue in the same manner. Time and time again you see teams take their foot off of the gas peddle and it bites them in the butt by the end of the game. SF had it rolling and played it safe with two runs in the same 3 and out and KC just had to implement a blitz on 3rd down, and the momentum flipped. If the offense played the same (or took the route of the hurry up that you saw in the first half that took KC by surprise), SF would have scored again and it wild have been all but over. Up until that point, I had SF winning and Garropolo taking MVP honors.
Instead, 3 and out, momentum shift, enter Mahomes and KC wins. It just appears that playing it safe turns out to be the less safe option at the end of the day.
let's remember something, the 49ERS were nothing last year and that being said: this year, they're in the SUPERBOWL. The future is bright wouldn't you say. Coach SHANAHAN is growing also.He didn’t play it safe. He tried to pass late in the game and the plays blew up on him. If he actually “played it safe” and ran more with the lead he likely has a ring today.
Very bright for them next year. I think Jimmy G is ultimately a flacco level QB tho, but he won one. Their main issue will be cap management. Same issue all young teams have as guys come into contract years. Cheap bosa is a blessing.let's remember something, the 49ERS were nothing last year and that being said: this year, they're in the SUPERBOWL. The future is bright wouldn't you say. Game was over before it started. You insult the grass at Greetree and you ain’t winning shizzle.
He's an offensive savant but there's no denying that the man is an abysmal coach when it comes to situational, high pressure football. This wasn't as bad as the ATL SB, but it was still really bad from Shanahan.Very bright for them next year. I think Jimmy G is ultimately a flacco level QB tho, but he won one. I’m a fan of Shanahan’s offense and how he maxes out match ups. Not a fan of his cry baby antics but he’s no coRch.
Guy blasting him for coming up short in two super bowls are off the mark.

Very well put my friend. You explained it perfectly.just like you guys cry bout our D not being elite. there are no truly elite defenses when you go up against an explosive offense. the san fran d is as elite as you can get and played pretty well all game, but you can only stop a good offense for so long. no matter how good your d is, youll need a very good O to go with it if you wanna win big. when you play the best of the best, youre gonna end up in a battle where your D wont be able to get the stops needed and youll need your O to score. the niners built a 10 point lead but needed to go score for score in the fourth
