4-star DT commit Collins goes in-depth on pledge at UA Miami

He got offered by Miami a full ride , he committed to Miami done .
I don't get it why does he need to have all this communication.

He should train like a mad man seven days a week morning the afternoon never stop training get in shape and ready to sign and report .

Why all the soap opera , he’s just adding baggage and concerns he really doesn’t need.

He should decommit go to D-II or III or JR college mature and if he does he can try D-I in couple years.

If not he’ll get beat up no matter how big he is

I've told people for months he has big red flags pertaining to his work ethic.

He's not a hard worker & that's coming directly from his former Coach at Southwest, once I heard that I've been down on Collins from the beginning. He has a ton physical gifts but he doesn't work on his craft, plus the weight gain during the Quarantine is also concerning to me.

Maybe we keep him because he can't flip to UF like he wants, but if Miami isn't breaking their back to keep in contact with him I 100% understand.

Any Defensive lineman that doesn't wanna come to Miami or is unsure about playing in this Defense for a great coach like Stroud ain't doing us any favors anyway, trust & believe we can always find somebody else.

He's a fat lazy *******. Because his frame is unreal for the position, I won't be upset if we take him. But because of the latter, I won't be upset if he's dropped. He needs a huge mindset adjustment to be successful.

Coaches usually puff up their players, so if one of his own coaches is telling you he's lazy - Yikes.

If he isn’t communicating much with the staff that’s saying they don’t really want him that bad. If your going to drop a So Florida kid during the pandemic he is probably the only one where you won’t get backlash back from the local community. Also with the new rule about 1 times transfers goes into you can’t be wasting a scholarship on a kid that has effort issues.

Are you sure the southwest coach wasn't a little upset because the kid left. Collins comes from a Caribbean household and transitioned to football 2 years ago from basketball. So as a bigboi playing basketball I find it hard to believe he is not a hard worker in football.

Also supposedly Collins has poor technique because he supposedly recieved poor coaching at southwest. But since being at Palmetto has improved his technique quite a bit. Which can been seen in the spring camp in Miami he attended. Also Collins is young in terms of maturity despite his appearance.

He can be coached up and physically you would be hard pressed to find a 1 technique NT/DT that is that big with his athleticism. There are some in the 2022 class but a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush.

You need to slow your roll, those statements are completely uncalled for not to mention. An what justification or evidence do you have to support your salacious statement. Considering at 300lbs the young man ran a laser timed 4.8 sec 40yd dash and is a former basketball player at that weight.

I'm certain he wasn't upset that he left SW because that Coach isn't even at Southwest anymore either.

And I think you might have the DT's mixed up, Allan Haye was the one who just started playing Football 2 years ago & was a Basketball player, I never heard anything about Collins being a Basketball player, not saying he didn't I'm just saying I never heard anything about it.

And the red flags about Collins are not just his technique, it's about his work ethic meaning how hard is he willing to work on getting better on a daily basis, the question about him is he's not a monster in the weightroom & a kid at his size should be, so you have to wonder whether or not he's internally motivated.

It's not technique its want imo because when he wants to throw ppl around he has and can to me it looks like he just loses interest and as the game goes it gets worse he doesnt try to move his guy I've seen him just stand at the line and take a block no moving to get free nothing. Just my opinion could be wrong but that's what it looks like his tools are crazy but u cant teach effort I'd rather use the spot elsewhere

Gabby on the 247 site just posted a lengthy update on guys he has seen personally in the last week or so. He said that Collins isn't practicing and appears to be "somewhat out of shape". I guess that's to be expected given the lack of practice, etc with COVID lately and his injury. They continue to say they don't expect him in this class.
