4-star CB Elam plans summer visit to UM, talks Canes

Give me Steele, Elam, Davis and Porter if possible at CB. At S a class of Stevenson, Smith and Gant would be amazing. I want Richards at Safety as well but I think he is set on offense in which case he could be the 2nd WR in the class.

The CB class I have above would be excellent as I truly believe we need 4 CB's in the 2019. Elam, Steele and Porter are all excellent prospects with the length, speed and agility to excel on the outside. Jaden Davis is the best nickel CB prospect in the state. We need to build quality depth at CB and a haul like the one above would do exactly that while creating intense competition at the position with Ivey, Frierson, Bandy, Bethel and maybe Blades(possible safety) already in the fold.

Stacking chips at Safety is maybe even more of a priority given the fact that after our 2 senior starters, all we have is Carter, Hall and Knowles now that Derrick Smith is at Striker. We desperately need to create quality depth and competition at the Safety position and at least 3 is a must IMO. Getting Stevenson would be a coup as he would be an instant starter at FS and would likely pair with Gurvan Hall at SS with Carter coming off the bench. Keontre Smith looks like either a Striker or SS and he would immediately challenge Carter for reps. Gant would provide depth and play on special teams to begin but he is an excellent prospect as well. If we are fortunate enough to have Richards realize that Safety is his future money position and he agrees to play defense here then a potential Safety corps of Hall, Richards, Stevenson, K. Smith, Carter and Gant would be sick, filthy, insane and exactly how a Miami Safety room should look like.

You are sleeping on Amari if u think he’s not starting. I know we have this bad habit of anointing true frosh here; but it’s time to get to the point that our true frosh are seeing spot duty and waiting their turn. Carter is the goods, period. Hall and Carter will most likely be manning the S spot in 2019.

Carter may start just out of pure knowledge of the system and etc. Me personally i wouldn't want him to start. Carter can hit but he is purely a in the box safety. He can't cover and is slow too.

This comment is to not to bash our DBs from 2018; b/c let me go on record and say, I love Ivey, Blades, Frierson! HOWEVER, we left a lot of meat of the bones in obtaining elite DBs.

We need to make up for it this year.
Give me Elam (who I’ve been high on for a minute) and Steele at the DB position, and give me Stevenson and Battle at the S position w Richards as an ATH, to go w Mr lockSmith and I’m soooo Gucci.
Elam at this point is a great athlete who has shown flashes in particular his sophmore year as his junior year wasn’t as good. Both Ivey and frierson had better film than he did

Would have rather him play that striker role honestly

U think he’s slow? I thought he did a really good job as a true freshman.

Nah I'll go with Elam over Ivey...And to be technical Ivey didn't have much junior film injury

No knock on Ivey, I just think Elam is the more fluid athlete

lol Ivey is as fluid as they come. Silky smooth riding the hips, especially great in light of his bigger frame. I havent seen film of Elam but if he's more fluid than Ivey, Elam should be a consensus 5 star.

Nah I disagree...Ivey super long (nh), and by no means stiff...but if you look at his senior tape, there are times, esp on the int returns he doesn't look super athletic or explosive. Basically tripping over his own feet on returns.

Hopefully I'm wrong. Lot to like about him too obviously.

I'm not sleeping on Carter by any means. I was going by the multiple reports in Spring that all said that Carter still hasn't progressed to the point where he is threatening Redwine. My post was also referring to the 2019 season and I am betting that barring injury Gurvan Hall will pass up Amari Carter. Now we could have a situation where Hall and Carter start in 2019 but all this was contingent on signing Stevenson and if we do sign him, I think Stevenson plays immediately. Again, I love Amari Carter but I think that Hall and Stevenson are on another level IMO.

Carter may be moved to the striker position.

Get your goldenized *** up out of here... sounding defeated and sh*t...

I guess
Lorenzo lingard
Mark pope
Brian hightower
Nesta silvera
Gilbert frierson
Brevin Jordan
And a host of others came here because bama and clemson didn’t want them right?.,..

Did I say we have pulled in bad classes? Don't get your panties in a knot... our classes are not Bama or Georgia quality yet plain n simple, if u think otherwise then talking to you is pointless...i can be critical about certain things without it being a diss towards us, not hard to understand

Go Canes :duke-stiff:

Clemson finished 7th and bama finished 6th in the rankings. With Josh Belk leaving the class from clemson Miami class is now higher than Clemson’s in ranking. You forget Miami took a scholarship fullback and kicker(not many do that in the same class period which drags average recruit rankings down and then 2 low rated prospects in Jordan miller and Nigel bethel late(not mad at this because they are talented)

I didn't forget anything lol man u sure assume alot just off 1 single comment wow lol ... I like Jordan Miller and Bethel... and the rankings right now mean next to nothing to me, all that matters is the talent we got after the end of NSD... I also don't put all my stock into those rankings, there are times where I've felt a lower ranked class was better then some ahead of them and it turned out true... once again i never said we have bad classes, our roster as a whole just isn't on Georgia or Bamas level right now and I'm not sure why it's an argument lol ... we are not far behind which is nice to be able to say finally I just feel like we will still lose kids to those kinds of schools till we win big and I think alot of people agree with that... for now we are doing well but hopefully will do better as time goes on Go Canes

Yes we did. It's amazing that we still ended up with a fantastic DB class even after missing out on several of our top targets. It's nice to be in South Florida!

Stevenson would not start over hall of Carter

Carter not starting over Redwine is not a knock at him but more so goes to show how much redwine improved.. Diaz and Bandy both said he was the most consistent saftey all spring.. you guys need to stop sleeping on ppl who are seniors and understand their drive will usually be higher than the underclassmen
