Do we have a legit chance at this kid? I don’t mean no “seat at the table” nonsense. Given that this kid is a gator legacy, how legit are our chances?

when will this whole gator legacy stuff stop?. Ninja uncle went there..his dad didnt.

Would be a nice pickup has the height 6-1 and weight 182. Also, this year ran an official 100m 10.83 (FHSAA 1A District 12) just off the high school national elite standard of 10.80.

I refuse to get my hopes up as we havent had the best success at landing the top guy or two. Having said that, I want this recruit on our squad.

I agree. U can't get my hopes up. When we were talking to him earlier in the process we had major traction. For whatever reason the staff fell back. I'm glad they changed their minds because I think he's a stud.

I'd love to close our DB recruiting class with Stevenson, Gant and Richards(may play Offense but don't want to leave him out) at Safety. Elam and Steele at CB. Porter, Dixon, and the two GA kids would also be in play if we miss on anyone.

I'd love for us to stay in FL to get our DB's but like it's been said it's surprising when we get the top guys to stay home.

I'm pretty sure we signed the best Safety in South Florida last year

Clown post. Lol.

We landed the best dt, de, cb, and safety last year.

One would think that someone would be intelligent enough to put two and two together in a thread about a corner, that I'm talking about this guys position.....corner. I suppose your post is what I deserve though for assuming anything and not spelling it out completely for homers such as yourself.

I say homer since when all the dust settled last year on signing day we didn't sign the best DE, DT, Safety, and sure as heck not corner. Time will tell what's what down the road if those rankings on paper hold out, but Vincent, Thomas, Surtain, Campbell, and the dreaded Jobe were all thought to be the best of the local crop. No slight to our guys, but let's be real.

I normally don't second guess the staff....they do this stuff every day, all day, 60 hours a week.

But I gotta call it how I see it...this has been an epic fail by the staff thus far. This kid is an ELITE player, in your backyard, at perhaps your biggest position of need. And you aren't communicating with him regularly? And now you're going to pick it back up? Either the kid is high on your board or he's not. If he's not, you're wrong. But regardless, what changed between the beginning of the year and now?

And don't give me the UF legacy BS. His uncle played there. So what? Isn't stopping all those other schools he mentioned from recruiting him hard. I'm sure some of the blind homers on this site will take issue with this post, but be real. This has been a very curious approach to a local kid's recruitment who is a VERY good prospect at a huge position of need.

You right. Pops went to ND. Forgot about that. Wonder if his pops and Rumph know each other back from their HS palm beach days even though they're a couple years apart.

Who cares about legacy.

Mallory - BIG time michigan legacy (grandpa in michigan hall of fame and dad played football too).

Jennings - FSU legacy

Legacies matter a bit but at the end of the day both the player and his parents want what’s best for him. And it’s the coaches job to sell their program as being just that.

Also, Patrick Joyner - FSU legacy

I agree 100% but my point is that people are using the legacy as the reason not to recruit him.

Look nobody knows what happened and why the staff cooled on him. Shît doesn't matter now. They are back in contact and the dude said miami is still high up there for him. Just stay on him and get his *** on campus.

Like this staff but they so some weird ****. Kid should have been a day 1 priority.

I'll bite....
DT Nesta was considered top 3 DT in the country
Gurvan Hall was one of the most sought after safeties in the country... Even though not a 5 star, all the coaches wanted him BADDDD. It sounded like you were implying Jobe was better than Hall and to that I have to chuckle.

Corner....Agree, we missed on the top prospects and would not say we signed the best at the time however Frierson too was extremely sought after by top programs
DE... Rousseau was a diamond in the rough. He was not the highest ranked so on paper no he did not have the most stars..... Watch him get drafted higher than anyone ranked above him though.
