4-star CB Elam plans summer visit to UM, talks Canes

And there could be another Jennings headed to Miami in the future.

He has a younger brother, Branden Jennings with an offer.

They have him listed (on 24/7) as an LB, but he's already 6'3" 220 and only in the '21 class.

Could be another one from Jax to keep an eye on.

Branden Jennings, Sandalwood, Inside Linebacker

Who cares about legacy.

Mallory - BIG time michigan legacy (grandpa in michigan hall of fame and dad played football too).

Jennings - FSU legacy

He could outgrow linebacker but I like him there. He’s definitely a kid to follow. I think he will be better than his brother.

One would think that someone would be intelligent enough to put two and two together in a thread about a corner, that I'm talking about this guys position.....corner. I suppose your post is what I deserve though for assuming anything and not spelling it out completely for homers such as yourself.

I say homer since when all the dust settled last year on signing day we didn't sign the best DE, DT, Safety, and sure as heck not corner. Time will tell what's what down the road if those rankings on paper hold out, but Vincent, Thomas, Surtain, Campbell, and the dreaded Jobe were all thought to be the best of the local crop. No slight to our guys, but let's be real.

Since when is IMG local to Miami? Also Vincent is from Maryland & Thomas is from SC. Not exactly our local crop with those two. We clearly missed on the consensus top 3 CBs in the local area though, regardless of what people think of Kaindoh's Kuck..

I thought you guys would be happy about this development. Majority of this thread has just been a bunch of whining.

If we can't win him over with like 8 months left until the EARLY signing period, I don't think an extra few weeks or couple months would have done the trick..

Richards is a UM legacy and it hasn’t stopped Coach Mullet from recruiting him

Well to be fair your uncle is normally your dad at UF. So technically that’s a legacy.

You right. Pops went to ND. Forgot about that. Wonder if his pops and Rumph know each other back from their HS palm beach days even though they're a couple years apart.

yea they should know each other. Abe elam is around in the community in Palm Beach. Host camps and other stuff. The same way they have been all over Stevenson is how i wouldve been on this kid. Glad Manny went up there and the contact is back..but there isnt 3 local db prospects his caliber down here. Your ecruit those guys regardless of legacies. Cant see myself recruiting 150 pd Tecoury Couch and ignoring this kid.

I highly doubt he's coming here...if the Clemson and Bamas of the world want him then they will get him.. they can get 9 outta 10 kids we are interested in if they really want to, nothing new either... let's just be happy we got Richt lol without him we wouldn't even get the 2nd tier Georgia n Bama type kids after what Golden did

Lorenzo lingard
Mark pope
Brian hightower
Nesta silvera
Gilbert frierson
Brevin Jordan
And a host of others came here because bama and clemson didn’t want them right?.,..

The best CB in PB, head & shoulders above Dent imo.

Elam & Stevenson are the 2 best DB's in South Fla this class, would be amazing to figure out some way to get them both.
Agree 100%. We need both and for the life of me I can't figure out why in God's name were we not on Elam a long time ago. Is it straight up incompetence? I can't think of any other reason. Step it up for crying out loud!

I agree. U can't get my hopes up. When we were talking to him earlier in the process we had major traction. For whatever reason the staff fell back. I'm glad they changed their minds because I think he's a stud.

I'd love to close our DB recruiting class with Stevenson, Gant and Richards(may play Offense but don't want to leave him out) at Safety. Elam and Steele at CB. Porter, Dixon, and the two GA kids would also be in play if we miss on anyone.

I'd love for us to stay in FL to get our DB's but like it's been said it's surprising when we get the top guys to stay home.
Give me Steele, Elam, Davis and Porter if possible at CB. At S a class of Stevenson, Smith and Gant would be amazing. I want Richards at Safety as well but I think he is set on offense in which case he could be the 2nd WR in the class.

The CB class I have above would be excellent as I truly believe we need 4 CB's in the 2019. Elam, Steele and Porter are all excellent prospects with the length, speed and agility to excel on the outside. Jaden Davis is the best nickel CB prospect in the state. We need to build quality depth at CB and a haul like the one above would do exactly that while creating intense competition at the position with Ivey, Frierson, Bandy, Bethel and maybe Blades(possible safety) already in the fold.

Stacking chips at Safety is maybe even more of a priority given the fact that after our 2 senior starters, all we have is Carter, Hall and Knowles now that Derrick Smith is at Striker. We desperately need to create quality depth and competition at the Safety position and at least 3 is a must IMO. Getting Stevenson would be a coup as he would be an instant starter at FS and would likely pair with Gurvan Hall at SS with Carter coming off the bench. Keontre Smith looks like either a Striker or SS and he would immediately challenge Carter for reps. Gant would provide depth and play on special teams to begin but he is an excellent prospect as well. If we are fortunate enough to have Richards realize that Safety is his future money position and he agrees to play defense here then a potential Safety corps of Hall, Richards, Stevenson, K. Smith, Carter and Gant would be sick, filthy, insane and exactly how a Miami Safety room should look like.

This comment is to not to bash our DBs from 2018; b/c let me go on record and say, I love Ivey, Blades, Frierson! HOWEVER, we left a lot of meat of the bones in obtaining elite DBs.

We need to make up for it this year.
Give me Elam (who I’ve been high on for a minute) and Steele at the DB position, and give me Stevenson and Battle at the S position w Richards as an ATH, to go w Mr lockSmith and I’m soooo Gucci.
